Goku didn't want ****, he was simply guessing what Vegeta's plan was. And since Vegeta wanted get the boys revived as well, not just Gohan, it'd only be natural for Goku to assume Vegeta wanted them all to come.
And I hope you realize everyone's freaking dead at that point... Tell me who else is capable of fighting Boo?

Would the Shunkun Ido be risky since Son Goku's energy was on low at the time?
What If he only had enough energy to make trip to Earth but ran out of energy to make the trip back.
Poor Vegeta... Kid Boo would make mince out of him since Trolled-faced Son Goku can't make it back there.

How do threads like these still happen? Aren't there at least 3 of them archived somewhere in the pages 15-40? I mean, really? This is simply unacceptable.
What part of Goku says he can't defeat Super Buu, but says he can defeat Kid Buu, don't you guys understand? There is no discussion.
What's funny is it's the Kid Buu people who have to bend statements to mean something they really don't, or interpret things in a nonsensical way. "Oh guiz, come on, Goku was only lying saying that Super Buu would kill him because of Vegeta's pride!" despite their being no indication of that whatsoever so it's a fan made theory.
Or, "Gosh golly jeepers guiz Goku meant because they're the size of ants they would die to Super Buu"...blah, so I guess we're supposed to believe Vegeta and himself thought they were going to live the rest of their lives out like that...yea, great inference there.
Or what about how multiple times Goku flat out says he can beat Kid Buu if he gets to full power, which shown by events in the series he does not. Oh, let's ignore that, along with a corroborating statement from Vegeta, because Goku simply doesn't know what he's talking about. One of the best judges of power in the series suddenly drops the ball.

If it wasn't for people like Apoc we wouldn't have much to debate about in Dragonball that is for sure. We need people with abnormal POVs or these forums would be boring.
What's funny is if you look at pages and pages in the past this forum repeats itself almost in the exact same way as months go by.

There is only few things that you really need to prove Super Boo is stronger than Kid Boo that can't be ignored.
1. Son Goku on Super Boo's strength inside Boo's body.
2. Kaioshin's back story on two kaioshin's being absorbed.
3. Son Goku was confident on fighting Kid Boo.

If you think something like Ultimate Gohan > SSjin 3 Goku is an opinion as opposed to a fact then you are a complete ******. Simple as that. And that's coming from a Son Goku fanboy.
The manga contains countless statements pointing to the likes of Son Goku and Pure Boo being far below Ultimate Gohan, SSjin 3 Gotenks, and Evil Boo and nothing to the contrary. You might as well argue that Son Goku being a Saiya-jin is just an opinion and that it's possible he's really a Namekseijin.

But it's not an opinion, but a fact that Goku is weaker than Super Buu. No way around it. In order to make that suggestively debatable is to twist statements around with opinions, such as "I think Goku was trying to protect Vegeta's pride"...that becomes an opinion...

If akira made a manga that was a whole new saga that took place right after the kid buu saga that acted as though gt never happened and was canon to the manga, we would still argue bout dis crap
