Default The Magic View Of The Spin Off

i hope im not putting this where it isnt invited. but i wanted to get Magic players persective on the coming Kaijudo game, their past experience/opinion with Duel Masters [its "father" basically], and the current TCG meta. i am noooot here to start a fight. i know there was kind of some feuding back then, at least between DM and YGO players, but have only seen one or 2 Magic people in person put down DM. but i personally thought all of that was kind of petty, no matter where it came from.

now we have the usual top 3, Magic, YGO, and Pokemon. and also Redikai, Monsuno, Vanguard (and maaaybe Bakugon..maay-bee? i cant tell), and soon Kaijudo. i dont know how to read the TCG market, so im hoping to pick ur brains about tht too.

im not saying u have to like it. im not saying u have to speak well of it. i want ur honest opinion, and would appreciate it.

Kaijudo Is trying to piggyback off an almost failed card game. It is no threat to any of the big games.

Duel masters actually succeeded in japan so I wouldn't really call it a failed game since japan was the target audience anyway. (cards were released there first.) Its still be released there.

I was very fond of duel masters, it worked like a water downed magic but it had its own charm and its shield system was unique in that it helped player in trouble and actually created scenarios where attacking the enemy to hit them asap was bad strategy.

From what I seen of Kaijudo its art is a bit worse though which makes me sad, I'm not into the over the top style of either game anyway but duel masters always took it as sarcastically as possible making the game over the topnes a joke more so than corny.

a good joke, or a bad joke? i always loved that DM had a sense of humor.

Kaijudo is a rebranding of Duel Master. i suppose that could be piggy backing, but we think it's trying to have a new start. and i dont want it to take down or Threaten the other games. i dont want feuds. i just want to play this game, and if possible, have fun with my fellow TCGers.

I like the art and the card designs from Duel Masters. But Kaijudo has gone a bit more childish.

Well , I don't see the game being really interesting ( I might be wrong though, you never know unless you try ), and it's artwork seems pretty childish, but I would give it a try if it was played in my area, again, probably only casually
