Wow, forgot this thread was still around.
Eh, just went back and edited my post since it was still on the same page. Funny how my answers look so different from a year ago.

2 many fav anime/mangas to make a list xD been reading all of the ones out there, but yesterday got back into the manga; golden boy, I watched the anime back in like 2009 after seeing this amv: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4vTbnfM8QI
Edit: Aside from the mangas already listed in the previous pages, I am into currently ''survival'' mangas, stuff like suicide island, cage of eden, 6000, Mouryou no Yurikago, etc
Waiting for new berserk and zetman, but those always take some time...

Amen to that son, Berserk is so slow on the releases that the current rate is practically rapid fire compared to the dark ages, i.e. the 2006-2008 era when it took 2 years for 2 volumes to come out.
Might try that survival **** sometime in the future, currently caught up just waiting on other crap.

I also like ''doubt'' as survival manga, and those below
Fighting mangas:
Tough, Oton, Worst, Crows, Drop.
Other:
Guyver
Ratman
GTO(Great teacher onizuka)
Claymore
Gyo (mini horror story)
Katekyo Hitman Reborn
Bokura no Hikari Club
LITCHI HIKARI CLUB
Wolf Guy
There are many more, but these are ones that come to mind right now, aside of the stuff most ppl currently read like; bleach, one piece, naruto, fairy tale, etc
Edit: Also for ''survival'' manga there is ''judge'' which is similar to ''doubt'' but not the same.

Haven't read Ratman yet, the rest don't really interest me except GTO, which I mostly read for the nostalgia value, despite the plot and characters not being all that masterful.

I used to love Soul Eater, but they cut the series far too short, and added to that, the English dubs were absolutely terrible. I watched the subbed version, which I rarely do with anime, as I couldn't stand listening to Black Star's uber-girly voice in the dub for anything more than a few seconds.
Despite this, Soul Eater still stands as my favourite anime.
Manga? I'm not a huge fan of reading. :I

If they release a second series it would be awesome, sadly there doesn't seem to be any plans for one. Considering it was quite popular, it's surprising.

It's a good manga, not nearly as great as people say, but up until the end I liked it.
