Just finished reading the last and 4th issue of The Cape and I hope they will release the new issue for the comic Fly soon. I still read every Marvel/DC weekly comic out there, but I find that stuff like The Darkness and Savage Dragon, Elephantmen, RoboCop, Terminator, Transformers, Invincible, Spawn, Grimm's Fairy Tales (even Godzilla lol) etc, are currently making more original stuff, I mean DC going back to the 52 and Marvel with the Osborn loop circle eh.

Edit*: Also SuperGod was a great comic.
Welcome to the comic club xD

Btw, what do you guys think of the new Venom and Scarlet Spiderman?

The new Venom looks cool indeed but the new Scarlet Spidey doesnt look so bad either.
The only thing im worried about is the story.

I'm not currently reading any current Marvel, so I have no idea how the story goes. If they can pull off the Scarlet Spider story then I think its great, they brought back Norman Osborn so they might as well bring back the Scarlet Spider too. I'm just concerned, I hope they dont mess it up. As far as Venom goes, I really dont like what their doing with the character. Just my opinion.

Just thought I would chyme in here. I just noticed this comics section on Pojo. I'm an old man compared to most on Pojo, and I started collecting comics in about 1977. I worked in a comic store in 1981 & 1982. Unfortunately my favorite character was (and still is) Doctor Strange. So my prized possesions have little value by comparison. I do have Strange Tales #110 (July 1963), first appearance of Dr. Strange.

Other highlights include:
The Fantastic Four #27 (June 1964)
Marvel Feature #1 (December 1971)
The Silver Surfer #1 (Aug. 1968)
The Defenders #1-#124
Giant-Size X-Men #1 1975
X-Men #94-119
Zap Comix #1
Spectacular Spider-Man #27
Daredevil #158-#200

I probably have about 25,000 comics 95% of those are Marvel and DC from 1977-1987. Probably the worst era to have collected.

I have probably bought less than 100 comics since 1990.

Last year, I sold/traded about $1,000 worth to get YGO and MTG cards for my kids and myself.

Oooh, im liking the Silver Surfer #1 and Giant-Size X-Men #1, those are some pretty nice collector items.
Are they still in good shape?

And as for Dr. Strange, i love the comics but thats mainly because im a big fan of Dormammu xD

scarlet spider and 2099 spider are the bestest

i read those when i was little.

I was like 8 and over at my girlfriends house playing doctor and house and come into my castle and what not, and we all sneaked up into her brothers room, upstairs in the attic, all dark and stuff, and he had like a wall just full of black-light fuzzy posters, all scarlet spider, spiderman 2099, demogoblin and carrion and all the cool all emo badguys from spiderman, and man, I just fell in love. That genre of spidey is 100x better then amazing and all that ****.

Spider-Man is my favorite character and I was very disappointed with the old movies for several reasons. Anytime I know I am going to see a movie, I always try to avoid watching trailers or sneek peeks because I like to be suprised when I see the movie, so I dont know much about this new movie other than the new costume and a couple of characters that are going to be in it.

Now I dont know why they refuse to use Spider-Man's actual costume, I would prefer that they did. However this new costume looks awesome, its a huuuuuuge improvement over that sparkling shiny costume they had Tobey Maguire where. This looks like a cross between the Ben Reily suit and Spider-Man Unlimited suit and looks like somthing Spider-Man would actually were. Other than how the suit looks there is something EXTREMELY important that I see from new suit. We FINALLY have web-shooters!!! Whats the big deal your probably asking. Well the web-shooters, along with his utility belt, along with him using his mind to defeat the villain are signs from the comic that Peter Parker is a scientific genius. That is a major aspect to his character that was COMPLETELY dropped in the old movies along with his sense of humor. Think about it, in the first movie he just keeps punching the Green Goblin until he gives up, the second movie he just keeps punching Dr. Octopus until he goes back to normal, and in the third one he bangs pipes together. Not much improvising or thinking going on there. Heroes being smart/scientific and using there brain to beat the villain was a wonderful thing that Stan Lee introduced in 60's and its not in the movies at all. I hope Spidey is lot smarter in the new movie and I am really looking forward to it. Theres a lot more I could say but I'll control myself, sorry this is already kind of long.

The long post isnt a problem, it keeps me busy lol

I indeed freakin love the suit and from what i heard he will be smart-mouthing as well during fights and stuff (like in the comics).

Glad to hear it! Thats news made my day!

BTW I was wondering if anybody could tell me a little about the new Scarlet Spider, like how it is and what number its up to. I'm thinking about picking it up but I'm not sure if I should, I would really appreciate it.

Its ok, kaine starting up in a another city (houston), their at issue #3 now, and *spoiler alert* the assassin's guild will be after the chubby ********** doctor and kaine, kaine obviously plays a more hardcore spiderman and the way its written it makes him not as secretive as peter parker about his identity.

Thanks a lot. I'm still not sure if I'm gonna pick it up but I'm leaning towards giving it a try. Wait Kaine is the new Scarlet Spider and not Ben Reily? It would be pretty crazy to somehow bring Ben Reily back I guess, but I thought thats what they were going for. Thanks for the input!

Okay I've been reading some stuff about it and about how Kaine was involved with spider island and its starting to sound really good! I'm a bit disappointed its not Ben Reily after all, but I'm gonna definetly give it a try.

On Topic: I dont know if this counts but I have Wolverine #100, but its not in good condition unfortunatly.....

I have Amazing Spider-Man #303. Its the one with Sandman and Silver Sable if I'm remembering correctly. There are so many great things about that time period. The first appearance of Venom, Peter and MJ getting married, and of course Todd Mcfarlane.

By the way, how does the trading on youtube work?

Well this may seem random, but I guess this goes under the related items category. I have every episode of the 1960's, 1980's, and 1990's Spider-Man Animated Series and Spider-Man Unlimited on dvd. The 1990's one is my prize possesion, best comic book adaption EVER. If anyone hasnt watched this show I really recomend it, especially if you like Spider-Man.
