Subbed for the future. I am thinking of posting my Counter Fairy build at some point when I get back from holiday.

christia doesn't belong anywhere close to a Counter Fairy deck. i thought you all would've realized this by now. a former teammate of mine had christias proxied for a little bit and i utterly stabbed a knife through his genitals w/ my zombies. the card's summoning condition is too slow to be abuseable in CFs and doesn't warrant the +1. the restriction on special summoning can be easily replaced by Oppression.

if you really wanted to play christia, it'd have to be in a dedicated fairy deck

Well, I decided to test the deck with one Kristya. All I can really say about it, is that she has major inconsistancy problems in Counter Fairies. Going to cut her when I figure out what I want to add in. Unless I find a build that can somehow work her into it.

Monsters: 14
[xxx] - Bountiful Artemis
[xxx] - Angel O7
[xx_] - Splendid Venus
[x__] - Archlord Kristya
[xxx] - Hardened Arm Dragon
[xx_] - Beast King Barbaros/Thunder King Rai-Oh

Spells: 10
[xxx] - Book of Moon
[xxx] - Soul Exchange
[xxx] - Trade-In
[x__] - Mystical Space Typhoon

Traps: 16
[xxx] - Dark Bribe
[xxx] - Magic Drain
[xx_] - Seven Tools of the Bandit
[x__] - Solemn Judgment
[XXX] - Royal Oppression
[XX_] - Bottomless Trap Hole
[x__] - Torrential Tribute
[x__] - Mirror Force

Total: 40

to be frank, Jerome's original High-Utility CFs was by far the most competitive and consistent CF deck w/o being touched by a long shot and even that had a strict template to follow w/ little to no room for tech of cards like christia.

i'd ignore any hopes of trying to successfully incorporate the two concepts (CFs and Christia) together. it's an utter waste of time that i can guarantee will yield inconsistencies when you finally find room to fit it in.

i'd rather play venus over christia. at least that's far more cohesive. now we know what the eventual outcome was. we got her and no one played her. hardly.

Yeah, at first I was looking at the Special Summon negation, and the fact that its a level 8 as a sign that I might be able to get it into the build.
As for Vanity's Ruler v Archlord Kristya, I think that if I were to really run either, I would go to Kristya personally. Simply because I don't have a single Special Summon in the deck, and Kristya is a slight 300 Atk higher. =3

Well, that, and Christia is Sp. Summonable, whereas Vanity's Ruler isn't. However, Vanity's Ruler allows you to Sp. Summon while he's on the field whereas Christia doesn't.

If you're wanting to be able to drop Archlord Christia to the field with very little setup, then Valhalla is one of the best ways to do so right now. Fallen Angels Asmodeus and Superbia will also help when they get released next year.

Well, the possible Special Summon is also a plus. As for not allowing me to Special Summon, the only monster I would ever Special Summon would be Kristya, so that won't be a problem. As for Valhalla, my build is running Oppressions so thats not an option. I'm also running Soul Exchanges so that should help a bit. Might change the BKB or TKRO into Gellenduos. But if a decidated Fairy deck. Athena... Valhalla... Gellendou, Kristya isn't at all hard to summon with little setup.

Subscribing and woo-hoo for being on the first page again, lol. Anyways, I do intend on continuing to run Garden Fairies however there is one comment that I need to point out as i'm playtesting this new build.

I HIGHLY disagree with you on this one Kris. Ever since Kristya's announcement in SOVR, I was working on incorporating her into a deck and already the deck has undergone quite a number of revisions. Yes, like all CF decks, it is susceptible to drawing bad hands but the deck goes off far more times than it does drawing a bad hand. In one game this past week with the deck, i had a half hour long match against a BW deck that dropped a turn 2 Armormaster. Kristya kept me in the game the entire time and i was able to finally come back after stalling out long enough to draw mirror force.

The key to utilizing Kristya is to get her out early and keep her out and because of that, the statement of Oppression > Kristya is flawed in my eyes. She's a walking oppression with 2800 with several ways to bring her out early. I recently found an old christmas present which is a handheld digital video recorder, i plan on using it to demonstrate the deck against some of the local top decks in my area.

Just to hint at how the deck is built and to give other players ideas, the use of Heralds really help speed up how fast you can summon her. I'll post the deck list and videos later today when i get in and after the Yankee game tonight.

My reason for running Christia is that my brother and main competetor plays Blackwing....Vayu is very oppression-proof

Yes it is, which is all the more reason to give Christia a shot with a newer build. I'm almost done with it, so I'll post it when I'm finished.

Thank you Artemis. I was hoping someone could give a very solid rebuttal to back up Kristya. I would very much appreciate if you could post a video of how your decks work. From what you said, it would give liable reason to finally run the Heralds. This could also end up being a very solid lockdown deck. Can't wait to see it

not to knock on all your efforts but if you built the deck properly (or as i had suggested), armor master would've died to a fissure, smash, dprison, ddwarriorlady. just sayin'

*summons Fissure and attacks directly for 2800 damage while stopping Gorz from hitting the field*

...Oh wait

The best form of negation is complete prevention.

Stop from even happening what you can and negate the rest.

and then when you don't draw the nuts and get stomped on, your pre-emptive cards yield you NO direct outs/answers to any problems. good job. and w/ a deck w/ very little draw power/speed and so muchto set up, i don't think that's the proper recipe for success.

Kris why do your posts sometime make it seem that you're trying to be full of it... really man, not everyone is going to build a deck the way you do. I had plenty of outs to the armor master, it just didn't come to hand that quick thats all.

Anyways, i've made my youtube account but the recorder i have didnt have much space since i didnt have a SD card in it so i got 3 recordings, only one of which was a win on my part but the other were a lot of senseless ripping on Jerry Wang (whom which everyone in the video personally knows).

In short I did make some questionable plays but at the same time, i was having a bunch of fun. I'm planning on doing more vids and a few more tweeks and the completion of the sideboard. More to come later.

Looks fairly solid there with the trad 18-8-14 build, not sure about Splendid Venus tbh, I would prefer to play something like Valhalla.

My quick point is that I unsterstand that 1 for 1 removal can get a player out of tight spots and but against a deck that gains advantage easily like Blackwings, destroying the first Armor Master will be of little help.

I've always tried to get away from the Jerome deck, lack of advancement simply leads to failure. Besides as I recall didn't a Spirit Reaper totally foil the deck, implying a lack of 1 for 1 removal.

This is the type of stuff that I am on about. Other decks like Counter Fool and the 10-0 Juju build were equally succesful but disregarded, due to allegences to the Jerome build.

Canada's Nat's also had only 200+ people. comparable to a large regional, or a very small SJC.

also, if you read the feature(s) closely of yannick's games, they were all won off lynchpin cards normally found in jerome's build. the fact that yannick used Jerome's build as a solid template is probably the only reason why he managed to excel as far as he did.

Additional Comment:

in video 2, the pro heavy was a nice play. then you failed to make the read on icarus. i would've just set torrent and ended.

i also thoroughly enjoyed listening to bob sinclair as i watched you lose card advantage go out the window. sacking honest for airknight? wtf was that?!

As i said, I made questionable plays mostly because if you were paying attention to some of the commentary, we all weren't paying so much attention. The next time i intend on keeping the joking down the the absolute minimum so prevent misplaying that bad again.

High utility, much like jerome's build, is the best in it's kind. You can also make Fatty fairy if you wish for a more fairy approach, or the Thethys build from Socia1st, but it's less consistant.

So, hum, I just taken CF for a little test after a 2 months break, using the approach suggested by kris, as to use generic removal. Went 2-1 against the BW deck that won the SJC a few weeks ago. Removal is good stuff, although perhaps I could use some more.
