Additional Comment:
I LOVE 1984!!! I've read it a few times, but I feel like I haven't fully understood it yet... maybe in a year or two... A few good reads are The Scarlett Letter, Lolita, Devil In The White City, Enders Game, Shades Children, Sabriel(I love Garth Nix), Twilight series, Harry potter series, Zombie Survival Guide, World War Z, just to name a few.

OK, did you bother to read any of the follow up comments that I made where I not only respond to your so-brilliant and sage assessment (TWO YEARS ago, before you even brought it up), but also I BACKED UP MY POINT with research and links?
Or did you just quote me to add to the general troll level of the thread?

You need to not wet your pants about this type of thing. It's a stereotype, and you need to understand what that is, and what it means before you claim that people are wrong.
Stereotypes are not universally true (and that in and of itself is a stereotype.. how much degree of truth does that have?). You, one individual (plus maybe 15 others in this thread), saying that you don't fit this stereotype does not invalidate it. Also, stereotypes stick around because there is reason for them to be around, and generally that because there is some truth to them. He's not saying that YOU do not like to read, etc etc, he's saying that MANY do not like to read. And given that the people who form these arguments probably have data on the order of hundreds of thousands of people, I would say they're pretty qualified to come to such a conclusion.
And obviously, many people will disagree with this, given that we're in a THREAD ABOUT BOOKWORMS. Go around to just about any other thread on this board.. they type like they're on a cell phone, and many can't handle non-bite sized chunks of information (I mean, no one reads our rules.. go figure).

I've now started reading Dracula. It's been so long since I've read it, I remember more from the movie than the book.

The only Dracula movie I've seen is Love at First Bite. I remember the book more than that movie. The title is the most memorable thing of the film.

"The cruelest thing you can do to Kerouac is reread him at thirty-eight."
- The Buddha of Suburbia by Hanif Kureishi
Seriously word for word. More than applicable in this case.

I'm reading the very famous but biased Red Star Over China by Edgar Snow. I'm planning to read World War Z next.
Btw, does anyone else love Roald Dahl?

I've been reading anne rice novels for over a year now, and I'm on my 2nd last piece written by her. servant of the bones is my fav, and I would suggest it to anyone who reads a lot. something you should know though is that usually her books start off slow, but after the 1st little bit you can't put it down!

Absolutely, the man was a great writer with a tremendous imagination. His adult stories are even more perverse than his kid-lit.

You do know that old Annie has become a born-again Christian and will no longer write those evil occult novels...right?

I recently got a copy of The Fantastic Mr. Fox free in a box of cereal. God, I'd forgotten just how much I used to love that book.
