Ok thanks for the help with foretress. Now lets do the pokemon I reserved - Foretress. Foretress might Seem like a crappy version to Skarmory but it has a couple things that skarmory can't get.
-Explosion
-Gyro Ball
-Protection
Now what does Skarmory have above Foretress
-OU
-Whirlwind
-Roar
Now roar/wind are really good on spikers/stealthers but foretress can make up for it. Here is my foretress (so when people battle me they can see it)
Foretress@Focus Sash/Leftovers
Impish 252def/252hp
-Spikes
-Stealth Rock
-Explosion
-Rapid Spin
I first start off with a stealth rock UNLESS I know they are going to switch (such as pokemon that don't effect foretress would switch out) than I explode so with focus SASH you most likely kill a poke and also see their next one. I like that more than a spike or a stealth rock, but thats just me.
Heres a couple that I think people could work with.
Foretress@leftovers
Impish/Relax 252def/252 hp
-Gyro Ball
-Spikes/Stealth Rock
-Protect
-Rapid Spin
This is a Foretress that could do some damage and set up for something to come. With Rapid spin and protect it could effectively get rid of spikes/seed/whatever and take no damage. This is one that I don't know what the EV spread should be so near/ wild ace could you help.
For this version, having a LOW Speed IV can and will help power up Gyro Ball even further.
Note that A LOT of ATK Evs will be needed in order to have GB do any real damage (due to it's poor attacking type: STEEL, and Foretress's Low Base ATK STAT).
Foretress@leftovers
Impish 252hp/252 def
-Protect / Substitute
-Stealth Rock
-Spikes
-Explosion
This is one that I might make my foretress into (mine being the first one) because I've notice with Explosion AND rapid spin the chances of doing both is slim to none. Also I make Foretress my starter so I think this might be better.
Note: If you're using the Protect Variant, be sure to have a Ghost PKMN on your team to be able to "counter" the incoming Rapid Spinner.
What do you think?
