Specskazam. Timid for an outstanding 372 Speed, which can outrun everything in standard except Jolly Weavile, Jolly Aerodactyl, Ninjask, Crobat, and Jolteon. And can tie Dugtrio and Sceptile. Psychic obvious for STAB, Shadow Ball to hit other Psychics, Focus Blast for Tyranitars as Steel, and Enery Ball to hit Waters / Rhyperior hard.

You can also change this version into Trick version, just replace Energy Ball with Trick.

Lol, physicalkazam. For Blisseys, use Focus Punch on Blissey Switch-Ins. Psycho Cut for STAB, Ice Punch for dragons. Thunderpunch for Gyarados/Skarm, or Fire Punch for Forretress/Skarm. I suggest Adamant over Jolly nature since it has horrible Atk stat, it need that boost.

Calm Mind version of kazam. Leftovers for HP recovery. Now don't freak out because Psychic isn't in that set. I believe not 1 single Pokemon resists both Shadow Ball and Focus Blast. Thanks to sir Wace pointed out, Encore is good to combo with Calm Mind on Alakazam, since it lacks defenses.

Though this can work, there are a few things to consider here:
- Loss of STAB
- Gaining an effective, but innacurate move.

Substitue can also be added here along with Psychic.
That would leave you with:

Encore

Though this is an ideal set up for gaining Calm Minds, having only 1 attack type (which is IMMUNE to Dark-Type PKMN no less) can leave you in quite a bind.

Make sure that your opponent's Dark-Type PKMN have been dealt with before attempting a sweep with this guy.


Note that Recover is always an option on Alakazam. Also, ShadowHawk pointed out that Substitute, Safeguard, Taunt, and Barrier are also options in CM kazam set.
