I always favor Accuracy over power, like Flamethrower over Fire Blast for exemple.

yeah i usually go for accuracy myself... unless the pokemon really needs the move with the extra power.

Finally, somebody realizes the greatness that is Magikarp. I'm more than happy to help. There are 5 lessons!
Lesson #1: You must first hold a ceremony in magikarp's honor
Lesson #2: Go into a bathroom, shut off the lights, look in the mirror, and repeat "Bloody Uberkarp" five times. Scared?
Lesson #3: Catch a magikarp!
Lesson #4: This is optional, but you can join Netbattle
Lesson #5: Give magikarp this moveset:
Magikarp@Adamant@Lefties
EVs~Max it all out!
- Splash
- Tackle
- Flail
With maxed EVs, no pokemon can survive its tackle attack. Except, another magikarp of course. Splash is for annoyance
Useless formula- Annoyance+uber strength= Guaranteed Victory
Congrats! You now know how to do create an Uberkarp. My very detailed steps will forever remain unmatched. I'd like to see PhazonElite do better ;)
NOW to the topic! Like the others, I prefer Accuracy. Ex: Thunder is powerful. But its accuracy is only 70%. I'd choose Flamethrower over Thunder any day

what about flail?

Oh, forgot about that. It's not really needed, but yes, I'll be sure to edit that into my post. I suppose it can take care of Pyrotrapping Ninetails

You're right, I can't do any better. =D
Oh, but you forgot one important fact: überdisc > überkarp.
If you love your überdisc as much as Ash loves Pikachu, and you believe in the heart of the cards, you will always win.
GG.

Damn, you're right! I forgot about the stupid heart of the cards+loving the pokemon. Too late to edit them in my posts. Well, Uberdisk is the most powerful pokemon. Then comes Uberkarp. I sorta knew that. I was just trying to see if other people knew it:D

uberdisc may be stronger than uberkarp, but it cannot use teh ultimate splash as well as teh karp that made its fame by splashing enemies into oblivion :D

Oh yes, almost forgot about Splash! I'm so ashamed. At least magikarp has one pro over Uberdisk

With Splash, UberKarp Rules over Uberdisc, but Uberdisc is much better tasting.
Hey DM, don't forget to PP Max Splash in that set for absolute pwnage!
Got PP Max?

Überkarp?! ROFLMAO!!!!! Sceptic Tank is much funnier, but this is ridiculous in whole other way! You take the weakest Pokémon in existence, you teach it the weakest move in existence, and try in vain to pass it off as the strongest Pokémon in existence!
Yeah, accuracy usually works better for me. For example, I was going to teach my Aggron Iron Tail, but then I saw it was 75% accurate instead of the 80% I thought it was. I exclaimed, "Heck no!" I immediately abandoned teaching him the move and I sold the TM at the nearest PokéMart.

i usually take accuracy, like i prefer boltbeam to blizzardthunder, but i'll sometimes take on things like megahorn or iron tail and hax away.

Whatabout PP capacity???
Dark Malik
11-10-2004, 03:58 PM
What do you mean "whatabout PP capacity???". If you're looking for a strong att that has great PP, then choose Splash of course.
shineyaltaria: Of course we can't forget to PP max Splash ;)

Yes, you've lost. But what could you expect when going against a Uberkarp supporter? Losing is the only option ;)

Iron Tail can be avoided usually by giving a pokemon other moves. megahorn is necessary because while being 85 (i think) accuracy it's an amazing bug-type attack. i still prefer flamethrower over fireblast, but fireblast is more widely used than blizzard, thunder and hydro pump because it's accuracy is greater. even tho hydropump is still 80.
and about the uberkarp: yeah losing is the only way

DM, wat about UbErWoB??? It has enough HP to survive uberkarp's splash at kill it with a splash of its own. :p .
-I'd take accuracy over power except for those crappy swift & vital throw moves (shockwave is pretty good).
Houndooms Revenge

Earthquake and Return are the best moves power wise. Earthquake is 100 power, 150 with STAB, many pokemon can learn it, it has 100 accuracy, and a good amount of PP, but it can't hit flying type pokes. Return has 102 max power, 153 with STAB, I can't think of any pokemon that can't learn it, it is also %100 accurate, and has even more PP, but can't hit ghost. Good luck with a Gengar.
IMHO the best annoying move is confuse ray. Confuse ray works on everybody and has 100 accuracy.
As for the weaker but accurate vs more powerful but inaccurate I will take the accurate moves over the inaccurate ones unless the inaccurate one is comboed. An example is Rain Dance+Thunder.
Of course Baton Pass and Mean Look are must haves in their own catagories.
Toxic, Thunder Wave, and Will-o-wisp are also on the top of their game.
Recover>Rest, if you can get it unless Rest is comboed.
In double battles; Surf, Earthquake, Blizzard, Teeter Dance, and Explosion all do really well but they are often expected.

Strategy w/ UbErWoB
UbErWoB@Silk Scarf
252 ATK/252 DEF/6 HP (its got a lot)
Charm
Splash
Counter
Mirror Coat
on first turn you use charm, and UbErWoB should have one HP left from uperkarp's splash. Then you splash (even though you should counter...), KOing uberkarp, so UbErWoB is WAY better.

Accuracy versus power, look at average damage. Fire Blast averages more than Flamethrower, so only use Flamethrower when you can't afford to miss or need the extra PP.
Hydro Pump averages 96 damage, and averaging one more point of damage IMO isn't enough to make up for a PP loss of 16.
Thunder has a 30% chance of paralysis.
Best move ever: Dragon Dance. Dragon Dancing six times and then using Splash is better than using six Splashes. Although that would mean you have to evolve your Magicarp, and losing the stats that make it great, plus making yourself vulnerable to electricity and rock.
Choice Band + Splash = pwnage
Actually, I think Bannette's Rest might be better.
However, above all, even beating out Splash Magicarp, is:
Shedinja@Soul Dew
Sandstorm
Double-Edge
Substitute.
