Okay I am trying to breed my male Charizard to get a shiney Charmander. So I decided to breed it with ditto....that was a faliure.I got a charmander but with a lonely nature. So then I went on to Serebii and they said Kangaskhan was in Charizard's egg group. So I bred them then I got a Kangaskhan. SO I was like poo this stinks(no pun intended). Anyways so the only way I can get a shiney Charizard is if I breed him with a ditto. Then maybe get a female charmander and try that out. So ditto is the only way to go now right? And only the female pokemon will hatch from the egg right?

ex: Charizard male with Drangonair female= Dragonair ???

That's annnoying anyways any help would be helpful LOL

Getting a shiny is just pure dumb luck. It doesn't matter if you try to breed for it or just walk around for one. I know. I have a male and female Altaria. I also have a male and female Zigzagoon. They don't make shiny babies.

Getting a shiny is just pure dumb luck. You have to be double lucky in fact---you have to be able to recognize a shiny when you see one, and then also be lucky enough to actually catch it.

Before we had ditto (like in R/S) , when breeding the offspring would always be of the same species as the Mother pokemon. But now we have ditto so you don't have to go crazy resetting over and over to just get a female.

Got ditto?

You may want to save your master ball in case you see a shiny. At least you'll catch it then, assuming you even see one.

All bets are off though if you are in the Safari Zone when you see the shiny. Then you have to accept the fact that you'll probably not catch it using one of the Safari balls, unless you are Really Lucky.

Got Luck?
