I'd say we some more Jedi on this forum. No? The storm has returned.
About
Team Stormfront is founded and lead by former moderator SA-JtK and god-tier moderator Mage Master, under the principal of going above and beyond the call of a "typical" Magic player and thinking outside the box not only in deck design, but in theory. We may or may not be the most competitive Spikes in the scene, but we strive to make our make our mark on the Magic world.
So what do we play? Well, we don't keep limitations on what decks or formats to play because, well honestly, we don't care! Play whatever format keeps you enjoying the game. We encourage a competitive spirit but we want you to have fun too and that's the most important aspect.
What do we expect of you?
-Dedication to our team. If you're in another game, join another team by all means. But for Magic, you either with us or someone else, not multiple teams.
-Have fun, be nice and friendly and don't break the damn rules!
-DO NOT SPAM. Spam will NOT be tolerated and deleted immediately.

How do YOU apply to Team Stormfront?
There's a few little things we need to know...
-What format(s) do you play?
-Are you a Timmy, a Johnny or a Spike?
-Why do you wanna join?
-What can you bring to the table?
And a small test. We like to think outside of the box and build obscure decks. A lot. So what do you have to do? Simple: prove you can do the same. We'll give you a random card, a budget limit and a format; you have to build a deck based around those factors. If we think it qualifies, you just might be in!
And just as a small note:
If you can't spell my name with the proper capitalization... well, I won't be a happy camper. But if you remember my old user names, I'll still respond to them.

Considering all of the other teams I've been on are dead I guess I'm not violating the first rule of the team huh?

I keep hoping one of these teams will stay active.

I'm convinced it's impossible to keep a Magic related team alive on this forum for very long, the passion (and intelligence in some cases) just isn't there.
Lance DeVrai
02-22-2011, 12:11 PM
Let alone the interest. But I'm trying, I guess.
Gatsby

I guess we need someone competitive, preferably a standard format player, so we can have something current to discuss. I dabble in all format but geared towards edh for what's worth.
Lance DeVrai

I'm all about casual and the variant formats, so that really ain't me. If someone's interested, well have them try out.

Keep up the hope, MM.

I have my Legacy pretty much where I want it to be. I have my eyes set on Standard now, seeing as its basically what a lot of my dudes play. The only problem is building a deck that doesn't use Big Jace. And while I have most of the more costly pieces for Vamps and Boros, they just aren't that much to play.
Additional Comment:
Oh, yeah:
-What format(s) do you play?
Legacy, Standard, EDH, Pre/Releases. And others if my locals have a big enough event.
-Are you a Timmy, a Johnny or a Spike?
Spike
-Why do you wanna join?
Lookin for players who aren't complete idiots, partial idiot is just fine
-What can you bring to the table?
Tournement experience, and I like to think outside the box
Mage Master
02-22-2011, 01:21 PM
I guess I'm more interested in Draft right now, sucks my local doesn't run drafts. Although I guess rare drafting would be a bit of an issue if that were to happen.
LegacyDan
02-22-2011, 01:43 PM
Mine only does on Releases and whatnot, with the exception of one, but all they do is gamble on sealed. Winner gets the losers cards, and they are VERY cutthroat about it.
Mage Master
02-22-2011, 01:44 PM
I really hate that way of doing Limited. It really hurts the people who bomb out, at least they might have a decent Mythic to show for it but not if the winner just gets whatever they want.
LegacyDan
02-22-2011, 02:17 PM
Its nothing sanctioned, they both just buy the cards, and whomever gets best of 3 wins all the packs.
Mage Master
02-22-2011, 02:19 PM
Well I guess that's alright then, I have huge issues with the whole "whoever wins gets to pick X number of cards from all of the pools" deal when it's actually sanctioned. Makes me think the store owner is being tight when they've already charged what, $12-15 for the draft in the first place.

I'm up for staying in if you guys still want me here; I'm active, just don't post as often anymore, been busy.
How's everyone been?
Gatsby

Eh, SoLaS doesn't wow me at all, even in edh. I know I should play it in a creature heavy deck but meh.
LegacyDan
02-23-2011, 08:50 AM
SolaS gets approval simply because it can recur critters and it grants protection from STP. The pro Black is decent, but "meh" in most cases.
SA-Jtk: Yay or Nay on member status?
Gatsby
02-23-2011, 08:53 AM
I add it in because it's the only pro white sword atm. SoFaF is just too good, tbh.

So guys, do you think I should get Tezz II now (45 USD) or wait?
LegacyDan
02-23-2011, 09:53 AM
Sorry, SA-JtK. Kinda curious, what exactly does your screen name mean?
Gatsby: SoFaF is quickly rising on my list of top 10 for equipments. I find myself tutoring for it more and more each tourney, both Standard and Legacy. As to Tezzy, I would suggest picking him up before Big Jace rotates out of Standard. Theory is, once big Jace is gone Tezzy will be the biggest badass on the block. Unless the print someone more powerful of course.
Mage Master
02-23-2011, 10:07 AM
SoFaF is a weird one for me. I absolutely hate it as a card concept/design/whatever but I can still appreciate the tempo swing it provides.
Gatsby
02-23-2011, 10:19 AM
So, 1 week from now, Tezz II will go up even more is what you are saying?
LegacyDan
02-23-2011, 03:00 PM
Well, no. You got a couple of months. Its just, when Big Jace is gone everyone will be looking for a PW to abuse.

I have neither the time nor the place to explain here. Sorry.
For some reason, I kinda miss being "North"..

I'm scared of Blightsteel Colossus; it's the new Emrakul in edh. Just like Emrakul, getting it bribed out your deck is dangerous. The kicker is that Blightsteel Colossus can be acquired. I don't think I should add it in my deck anymore because I escaped one time by the skin of my teeth drawing into Sojourner.

But beating others with their own cards is just a bottle of Awesome Sauce. On the Plus side, you will probly be the last person they attack with it.

Hey, id like to join this team, I was part of fourth wave, but it seems as though no one is part of that team any longer. With that said i hope that maybey some of my previos team mates may speak, that i am a freqeunt poster when needed to be, and can commit to most discussions with at least a little knoledge. I have played for four years (almost 5). Also i do an FNM draft every week, and come summer i will be doing one standard cpnstructed tournament a week.
To answer your questions...
1. like a said i play draft (if you count that), and i play constructed standard, but i do enjoy my non standard sets- however i dont do anything competetive with them. I play
2. i am a spike/johnny, i enjoy thinking and using skill with the game, but i do also get a real thrill in winning...
3.I want to join, because i enjoy discussing the game, i always want to view other opinions and compare them to mine, i think that by seeing how and what other people do in the game, will/can help me learn more and more about it.
4., i pride myself to say that i have a good knoledge of the current standard meta and have a good view on most deck types in it, including cards and stratigys as well. I do have a pretty good outlook of the game itself as well.

I have no problem leaving TFW. It was a not what I originally intended, and the one the founders no longer frequents this board.
I would like to join, but if you do not want me to, I understand why.

Your deck seems like it could use some more Everflowing Chalice. And it appears to autolose to anything with a fast clock like Kuldotha Red and Boros.

I forgot about that card. Yeah, it pretty much dies to aggro.

it might seem expensive, but try using Keening Stone its worth the cost once you finally use it turn to turn its worth it. also, i like using draw return mill, you know like jaces erasure with things like consecrated sphinx. but thats all expensive stuff, your missing Tome Scour :D

I wanted to go Artifact, but I was debating the erasure deck.

Tumble Magnet and Wurmcoil Engine might help against Aggro.
Or go rogue and use Dissipation Field.

The words "Keening Stone" and "good" should never be used in the same sentence. Unless the sentence in question is "Man, I wish Keening Stone was good".

Or...
Kenning Stone is a good example of a bad mill card.
If I did not have to worry about attacks, Kenning Stone would be fine. But even if I ran a Blue Ramp deck...Keening Stone is not going to do anything.
