The Pojo Apprentice Program

If you love to battle but aren't experienced, come here! This program will help Apprentices become better battlers through their Tutors. Not only that, but it will also help the Tutors become more knowledgeable.

This program will accomplish the following goals:

1) Help others learn about competitive battling and develop a solid knowledge of the Pokemon Metagame. (OU, UU, Ubers, Suspect)

2) Use experienced battlers as tutors to teach others about competitive battling.

3) In addition to teaching apprentices competitive battling, the tutor will be expected to teach them the ways of Pojo, maturity and ways to actively participate on the forums.

Applying as a Tutor

1) You must show a vast knowledge of the Pokemon metagame.

2) Understand the mechanics of the game. (EVs, IVs, Moves, Ability, etc.)

3) The job of the Tutor is to help your Apprentice become a better battler by battling with them, fixing their teams, and showing them why their team is working/isn't working. You also must show maturity and responsibility.

4) Post here if you are entirely sure you're a decent battler and would love to battle other Tutors or Apprentices. Explain why you would be a good Tutor.


Applying as an Apprentice

1) You must be willing to listen and show respect to your Tutor and be open to new suggestions.

2) Be willing to battle other Apprentices or Tutors.

3) The job of the Apprentice is to listen to your Tutor and not only become better at competitive battling or how it works, but also to help the Tutor in a way.

4) Post here if you want to learn about competitive battling. Explain why you want to join the Program.

Why do you want to be involved in this project?
Post your application on this thread and I will review it. Some Tutor applications will probably be declined, because I want to make sure you're going to be placed in the right group.

We will have tournaments periodically to measure the apprentice's skill and how much they have grown. These will be done by my discretion when I feel that we have decent amounts of activity to pull one off. There will be prizes involved, though I'm not sure what yet. Details are forth coming.

Been on Team Pulse, Team Evolution, Team Asylum, Leader of Team Fire Blast, Leader of Team Oblivion, Leader of Team Abyss, and currently Leader of Team Nightmare.
Tutor: I am good at making well balanced teams. I can predict moves of the opponent. I have tutored many people in the past, and now they're still here on pojo doing quite well. I would like to share my knowledge with others that I have been taught and studied. My weakness is sometimes I over predict, and it hurts a lot on occasion.

Battle Experience: I've been playing competitively for about a year, been in a few tournaments, and spend alot of time studying the ever changing metagame and battling. MGS and Conan can vouch for me, I guess.

Strengths/Weaknesses: I have a vast knowledge of the metagame and can usually piece together my opponent's team and strategy by just seeing a few members of their team. Team building is a strong point for me and I can accomplish this quite naturally. I have very good prediction skills when it comes to being defensive and knowing what my opponent wants to throw at me, but am sometimes too lazy to make an offensive prediction.

Regularly the tutor chooses who he wants totutor or he accepts a request. I do not take request from the apprentice' unless the tutor agrees to it. Wtb the acception of ben.yugioh because his statement is true. OD is his leader and most likely wouldn't mind.

Battle Experience: only two weeks worth of competitive Wifi but about 1 year on the battle simulators like shoddy battle, pokemon lab, pokemon online.

Problems: Very weak prediction skills, some assitence in teambuilding, and lack of knowledge on the current metagames and some of the common pokemon used by users currently.

Pinki's Progress Report, Day 1: helped Pinki make a team. Told him good sets, how to use them, what to predict, and what to expect from the pokes and the opponents.

Day 2(today): Had my first testing battle with Pinki. Much, much better than our first battle. He had good predictions, but got a little lucky on 2 haxs. First battle we had with his team was a 6-0 me, AKA our war battle. The battle we had this morning, 1-0 me. Great improvement thus far.
