Noob Question on spending Resources.

When you spend resources in your resource row for recruiting characters, or activating an equip card, do you tap your resource cards sideways to show that they've been spent, or do you leave them in the ready position and just keep track of how mch you spend in another way?

I know this may sound like a stupid question, but the rule book never actually states that you tap the cards in your resource row when you spend resources.

I also play Duelmasters, and i know in that game you tap mana when you spend it to activate a card or cards. So do you tap resources in the VS game when you send it or not?

As I'm new to this game i just wanted to be sure i was playing right so please don't flame me.

No, you don't exhaust (tap) your resource cards. At the beginning of your recruit step, you gain a number of resource points equal to the number of resources you have in play. As you spend the resource points, you just keep track of how many you have remaining. You do not exhaust the resources themselves since you automatically gain the resource points whether you use them or not. Locations sometimes have activated powers that require you to exhaust the location to play the power. If you had to exhaust the resource(location) to use the resource points, it would make it very difficult to use the resources as well as use the location's power.

It isn't a stupid question. Many have converted to VS from the WotC games and have to change their mindset a little. The rulebook doesn't state it because you don't exhaust (tap) the cards. While some of the rules are the same as MtG(Duelmasters), they are not by the same manufacturer and some of the rules differ a bit.

No. That is one of the elements you have to ignore when trying to convert to this game from Duelmasters/MtG.

Also, since Resource Points only exist during the Recruit Step (the step in which you recruit characters/equipment), it isn't that hard to keep track of how many Resource Points you have remaining... as long as your short-term memory is better than that of a goldfish. ;)
