So, it looks like this is supposed to hit shelves today. Has anybody seen anything as of yet? The card supplies that Konami usually releases are usually pretty low quality (i.e. the sleeves from the recent card tins), so I'm interested to see how this product turns out. The description sounds enticing... but such is the way of retail advertising...

the nametag is included; it has a spot for your name, cossy number, and cossy id barcode sticker. and yea, its magnetic.

the best ive got right now (not rly, just lazy). it comes with 2 dividers, one for each tray. its cheap but the quality exceeds its price imo.

But anyway, I would go to Wizards if I had my own transportation and had the cash to pay for tournaments because I hear a lot of good things from Alien Games (Tulsa's premiere card store apparently) and Wizards quite frequently. Only reason my friend and I keep going to Kirby's is for the free tournaments. Yeah, the prize is a crappy random pack but it's good for testing without having to waste cash.

I've been told it holds a deck, side and tokens. So you can assume its at least 60-65 per side.

The upcoming Ultra Pro double deck box is great and most likely around the same price. I eBayed the Grand Prix Nashville stamped prototype due to its exclusivity and early release, though the Magic logo and symbols ruin it a little.

I have the Japanese Blue Crimson Dragon 5D's single deck box, the original Konami Yu-Gi-Oh! "duelist card holder" (the black one with silver stamped logo), and I have to say the 5D's generation of deck boxes are my least favorite of the two, though the American release looks to be better than the Japanese one. The JP one also had a terrible plastic smell on the inside rather than a pleasant/unnoticeable one that deck boxes typically have.

The original Konami YGO deck box is quite solid. Bought a official Konami calculator to match it and it fits perfectly inside, but I ended up using the Ultra Pro rolling double deck box the most and the generic calculator that has the same design as the Konami one, since I don't want to lug around a TI-8X or use my phone. I would definitely be sporting the classic Konami YGO deck box + calculator if I didn't love the Ultra Pro one so much.

i fit in 70 sleeved in Ultra Pro in one slot (40 card deck + 15 card extra deck + 15 card side deck)

and i still had room for the 2 dividers in that slot....but it was quite a tight fit.


and i put a calculator and 3 dice in the other slot.

the one gripe i have about the new UP box is that part of it looks rather flimsy. the part where the box opens from doesn't look very reinforced.

The plastic sheet they use to form the box is very thin and flexible, almost like certain types of plastic school folders. It is definitely a lot thinner and less rigid and sturdy compared to the typical deck box plastic used by Ultra Pro and especially Konami.

So I guess it would be easier to crease or dent but honestly if you aren't using it as a soccer ball you should be fine. It will definitely never tear or anything like that. I'm willing to bet that though it might be more flexible or "flimsy," it is also a lot springier and won't easily show bends and creases. I'm not brave enough to try bend tests on mine. It doesn't seem like it will be falling apart any sooner than your average Ultra Pro box.

When's the release date on this thing?

Hopefully any day now. They said something like December '10 or failing that, early spring '11, IIRC. But then again I've been waiting for Theeve's supposed summer release for their TiAX trucks for half a year and they only just came out recently.

I'm able to fit my sleeved Naruto deck in just fine. It's a little tight but once you get the corners in it just slides right in.

To stay on topic, I like single deck boxes because it holds my deck, side deck and extra deck nicely and its less to carry.
