Still won't be a patch on Splinter Cell 3, IMO. I have another 6 months for that. Halo 2 should keep me busy until then.

Wow I am so excited.....*sarcasm*. I always thought that the Halo series was a very overrated franchise. Its just like every other 1st person shooter but people still go crazy over it. I have the first game and altho its multiplayer is fun, it is nothing special. I have a feeling that Halo 2 will do the same thing for video gaming, absolutely NOTHING. I may get this game for its online play in a few months, and am not saying it will suck, but i just hate it when people say it is game of the year...which it wont be. I foresee Halo 2 as being "Most overhyped and dissappointing game of the year".

I agree that the original Halo isn't as good as everyone says it is, but I'm just a sucker for shooting games. As long as it isn't as bad as XIII or *shudder* Drake :eek: .

Halo revolutionized console FPS with perfect controls, vehicles, and a strong multiplayer experience. It's something special, and it's going down as one of the best FPS of our time. You may not see what makes Halo so great, but it's there, your just turning a blind eye to it for some reason.
But I don't think It'll be GOTY either. Half Life 2 comes out this year. Don't mess with the best. ;)

Hey, I know its a fun game its just....games have had vehicles before, and some people hate Halo's controls. It is all a matter of opinion, and even though it may be fun, I think the game will NOT live up to its hype.

Some guy who worked at the manufacturing plant in France got it and put a copy on the net (in French). Not gonna say anything else cuz I'm pretty sure it's illegal.
Anyways, it's either 25/26 days, and I'm really excited for the official release of the game. I have a bunch of schoolwork to tide me over until it comes out :(.

Europe (France) -- November 10, 2004
Europe (Germany) -- November 11, 2004
Europe (Italy) -- November 11, 2004
Europe (Spain) -- November 11, 2004
Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan (Asia) -- November 9, 2004
On the 10th, the rest of Europe gets it on the 11th. I don't see UK though, I wonder when they get it.

I heard about Halo 2 being leaked on the screensavers. I know Microsoft is throwing a major fit. I wonder will this affect the sales of Halo 2? I doubt it but, you never know. What I do find ironic about this whole thing about Halo 2 being leaked to the press is that when Bungie announced that they had completely finished the game they said " Baring any unforseen trouble Halo 2 will be released on November 9th" I think thats a good way to jinx yourself.

I seriously doubt it will affect sales. There are still plenty of people without the needed mod Xbox to play it. And, the people who are really into Halo are going to get the American version also.
and some people hate Halo's controls.
There is a handful of control set ups. Plus, 9/10 FPS use the "Default" control set up that Halo has. So, I guess those "and some people hate Halo's controls." also hate 9/10 FPS.

Halo 2 is being released in the uk on november the 11th and btw what does halo 2 goes gold mean?
Also as for the stolen halo 2 pal version french code if you have a link to a site report it to microsoft asap or if not let me do it.Jan

Overhyped? Yes. Dissappointing? Probably not.
Being a Halo fanatic, I might be a bit biased. I'm actually getting the game for the storyline. I think I'm one of the only few who actually follow, and like the storyline of Halo.

Being a Halo fanatic, I might be a bit biased. I'm actually getting the game for the storyline. I think I'm one of the only few who actually follow, and like the storyline of Halo.
Dude, your not alone. The storyline is what makes Halo great, but you can't blame the people who are excited about it being live enabled. Cause I don't know about you, but playing by myself on Halo is pretty boring unless you have a friend over to play co-op with (thats what I did). And that was much more fun than playing by myself.
