What is it? I have these cards that give it, but I don't even know what it is

A reinforced character takes no Breakthrough Endurance Loss.

Breakthrough Endurance Loss is determined by taking the attackers attack minus the defenders defense. Only defenders receive Breakthrough Endurance Loss. Attackers NEVER take Breakthrough Endurance Loss.

So, your Sabretooth/Feral Rage (11 ATK) attacks my Blob/Fred Dukes (9 DEF).

I would take the difference between your attack and my defense as Breakthrough Endurance Loss (BEL), as well as stun damage equal to my character's cost (in this case, 4). Thus, I would take 4 damage total.

Now, if I were to exhaust a support row character directly behind Blob, to "reinforce," then I would take no BEL, only stun damage (AKA Stun Endurance Loss AKA SEL).

Characters like the 4 drop Invisible Woman AUTOMATICALLY give all your Fantastic Four characters reinforcement, so you don't need to exhaust a support row character behind the front row character being attacked to reinforce, as they already have reinforcement.

Now, you'll probably need to know which characters can reinforce. Here are the only requirements:

1) Only support row (back row) characters can reinforce.
2) They can only reinforce characters that are directly on either side, or in front of those support row characters (can not reinforce diagonally, or if there's a gap inbetween the support row characters, only behind or directly next to).
3) They must have the same team affiliation to reinforce.

Hope that helps.

When a character 1 attacks character 2, there is the potential for break through endurance loss. Lets say character 1 has an attack of 10 and character 2 has a defense of 7. Character 2 will be able to absorb 7 (it's defense) points of damage. Character 1 will deal 10 (it's attack) points of damage. When character 1 attacks character 2, there will be 3 (10-7) points of "break through" endurance loss. The controller of character 2 can prevent the "break through" endurance loss by making sure his character had reinforcement before the damage resolution step of that attack. I hope this explanation helps out a bit.
