I haven't really like the new style since I started noticing the bad quality they have at times:
Badly cut sleeves (From the transparent front to the solid colored back, badly cut sleeves suck).
Different sized sleeves (only happened once, and it was only a couple of sleeves).
Also, the sleeves scratch eachother a lot harder than they used to, and end up lasting less.

I had some sleeves back in about 02-03 I'd like to find again. The backs were a solid color--mine were gold--with the Millenium Eye in the dead center and done in white. They were japanese, as the TCG didn't have yugi sized sleeves at that time.

Those are really really old sleeves. I still have the dark red ones and the blue ones. However, I doubt you can find them in stores now, but I have seen some listed on ebay not too long ago. I think they were a little over $10 for 100.

BTW, does anyone know where I can find the magnetic double deck boxes?

To me, the best sleeves are as expressed below:

KMC White sleeves < Ultra Pro < Deck Prot/Non-White KMC sleeves < Max Protection Sleeves/inferior quality

I've noticed differences between the materials used for each sleeves, I've noticed the White colored KMC Sleeves to be of superior quality than any other KMC color.
When it comes to Ultra Pro, they are the same, but I've seen a bit more quality control in White sleeves.
Deck Prot uses the same material for all colors and tend to peel very quickly. Anything under Deck Prot should not be used, imo...unless you have no other choice.

I've also noticed that the Max Protecion art sleeves can be pretty good sleeves once you peel off the art on all of the sleeves...you can make them completely transparent and they are pretty good for a couple of days...

There are a few methods but you shouldn't wash your sleeves more than twice, and that's if you don't have any other choice, here are some methods for cleaning sleeves:

Generic Procedure:
With a humidified non-surface scratching rag, gently rub the front and back of the sleeve until your sweat globs have all disappeared (I prefer to leave the cards inside, it helps stiffen the sleeve for cleaning). You can double check by gently rubbing the surfaces of the sleeve with your finger tips...if they feel somewhat restored, continue on to the next sleeve.

Soaps and Solutions:
Water + Hand/Dish soap, when using dish soap...use one that is gentle on the hand? Never use concentrate.

Windex or similar product. This is a bit stonger and must be used wisely...use this on the mutant sweat-glob monsters you see at times, if your hands are sweat...you'll know what I mean.

A friend of mine told me he used scented Nail Polish Remover, which I believed since his sleeves smelled a bit feminine. I don't think Alcohol harms the sleeves...but I wouldn't use scented Nail Polish Remover...stick to non-scented if you want to try this out (if there is any XD).

I've been wanting to test Rubbing Alcohol and Hidrogen Peroxide, diluted bleach and Pinesol might also be tested in the future (once I find some test sleeves).

Notes:
I've noticed sleeves deteriorating a lot faster after the first cleaning session...do not wash them frequently and only resort to this if you do not have any other choice.

Do not wash glossy, metallic or clear sleeves...it's a waste of time because they already have low resistence to shuffling and play.

Elmers Painters - Cost less than Deco's But Are sub-par.

Those are the only two brands i am familiar with without being a dedicated graffiti marker, Which would not work.

I have to agree with Infernity Format and Gaving...although have a pack of sleeves inside-out is news to me...I'd love a pack of those just for the fun of it...although I would get pissed after opening another pack in similar conditions.

Frankly, Ultra Pro doesn't seem to give a damn about Quality Control. I've had so many bad packs of UP sleeves, I can't even count the number of sleeves in my junk drawer...90% is probably UP sleeves, the others being Deck Prot and sleeves with art on the back/etc.

I must say it,as much as I hate Deck Prot, though the sleeves are so simple...you can almost guarantee yourself you'll find a good pack of sleeves every time you buy a pack of Deck Prot. Though it won't last you very long :/.

I still take Ultra Pro to be my second option for sleeves...and White sleeves usually have the best quality over all other sleeve colors. Yellow, Blue, Red, Black and Green have all been found in bad conditions...but when it comes to White and Pink, I have no complaints...yet XD.

These deckboxes are amazing. I've had a blue one of these for at least 2 years now, and it's still in great condition. It's probably one of the sturdiest deck boxes out there, too.

Well idk, depends how sweaty your hands are, how often you use them, what is the climate in your area, so I'm just gonna throw this out their...anywhere from 2 weeks to a month. I've herd people say they've been using the same pack for over a year... but I'm sorry to say this but your a jew.

Deck Prot barely last me two weekends (They peel off the edges, stick together and are not resistent to vigorous playing/shuffling). I shuffle vigorously, many different kinds of shuffles...I like to keep my deck randomized, but you just can't get a nice shuffled deck after a weekend with Deck Prot, not by my standards (I am really picky when it comes to sleeves and shuffling).

I prefer using White KMC/Player's Choice sleeves over any other brand...but KMC/PC sleeves are kind of scarce in my area...so I'm using UP right now, specifically White Ultra Pro XD. I like Black UP, but I haven't been able to find a good pack of sleeves in a long time, they are either badly cut, mismatched in size...I haven't bought a bad pack of White sleeves at all...the few pink ones I've seen are in great condition as well.

KMC and Ultra Pro are the best sleeves in my experience,and I've never had a problem with sizing when it comes to ultra pro,only sometimes do I get a black sheep sleave thats a differnt backing then the rest,but other then that their great :)

Anyone try those pink Players Choice yet?

The sleeves aren't like the white. They are glossy backed. I like them though. The color is great and they shuffle very well.

diggin the purple KMC only problem is to glossy back proves for fast scratch / abrasion visibility in the light glare.


also i bought 2 red ultra pro the second pack was slightly wider making my side deck fairly noticable when i side in and shuffle just by feel it sucks lol

That's actually a method used to cheat: using different sized sleeves = marked sleeves.
I'm not saying you cheat, but that this is one of the many ways to use marked sleeves. I've noticed this while shuffling many opponent's decks, even a slight difference in size means they are either using marked sleeves or don't have any new sleeves, so they reconstruct a sleeve resource from old packs...you can usually tell which is which after the first duel...
I've used a reconstructed sleeve resources before and I've noticed getting the same hands over and over, despite having shuffled vigorously. I wouldn't run a side deck with those sleeves, you might get called for cheating...just run no sleeves on your side deck and switch the cards with whatever cards you wish to side in and out. It's not that hard to do and it takes little time if you know how to side deck properly.

Also, KMC/PC sleeves are usually sized differently...some might be similar in size...but after a few shuffles, you'll see what I'm talking about.

I've used Purple KMC sleeves as well, they're much like Deck Prot to me...maybe a bit superior, but not by much XD.

They last for a very long time. The plastic gets scratched, but the shuffle-ability remains the same. I can't say the same for other colors. I've tried orange, blue, red, and gold and they all got sticky with a week.

Yes they're real monster binders. They're actually a good idea for people who don't want to spend alot on a big monster binder.
