Hello everyone, this is an article about thinking your entire turns through instead of thinking of the immediate benefit, and then having it Backfire in your face. What do I mean by this? Well, I guess you could say not reading Gorz, Emissary of Darkness or possibly not reading a Creature Swap or Enemy Controller on your opponent's turn. All of these things can lead to your demise. With new cards running around like Battle Fader players must be extra careful. Battle Fader into a Monarch is a HUGE game swing. This article will mainly show you examples of some decks and where you can take precaution, or "think ahead."
Example 1
You are playing Cat Synchro, and your opening hand consists of Ryko, Trunade, and Rescue Cat (the others don't really matter right now). Lets say you set Ryko and end. Now your opponent, not knowing what your playing only sets 2 back row. A LOT of players in my area are drawing for turn, and then flipping Ryko. When I ask them why, they say its a One for One trade, and that's why they set Ryko in the first place, "to destroy backrow." Common Misplay. In this situation, you should play Trunade first, and if they have no response, go into Rescue Cat. KEEP YOUR RYKO SET. Now, in my opinion, your cat should get you Airbellum and any other monster you use as a level 2/3 you should NOT get 2 Airbellum. Because the Airbellum die at the end of the turn anyways, you should get something like Des Koala. That way, you can safely attack. What?! Battle Fader!? Oh yeah, good thing I kept that Ryko set.
Example 2
Compared to Example 1, this will be very short. When playing Lightsworn, ALWAYS be aware of your deck size (during the duel). If you go all out, and you are about to mill yourself to death, and they drop Battle Fader, and you have to use Judgment Dragon's effect and -1 yourself, you shouldn't have swarmed unless it was your VERY last option.
Hopefully, with these examples you now know about not running into Battle Fader, and Gorz and things that could stop your Game Push or things like it. I will most likely update this article later, and please, feel free to Message me about questions, or whether you think this sucked, or was good. :D Thanks for your reading!
