Hey guys I'm new to Yu-Gi-Oh and after pretty much becoming a pokemon master i figured this should be my next step. However, I don't have a deck and I'm looking to see which one i should get.
I like hitting hard, fast, and overpowering my opponents with powerful monsters and trap cards rather than sitting back and letting somebody take the game to me.
All suggestions appreciated, thanks.

The type of deck you want is a beatdown deck.
If you plan to play casually, my preference is the Dinosaurs Rage structure deck.
If you want to be a little more competitive, look around on the advanced deck forums.

Blackwings or Infernity OTK.

Infernity OTK is a deck where you just swarm the field and win the game as soon as possible. It is one of the easiest decks to play next to Lightsworn.

Blackwings just either steadily peck your opponent to death, explode and win the game with Vayus, or take your opponent by surprise with Kaluts.

If you want a deck that's not so expensive, start out with the new Duelist Toolbox starter deck. Get some Quick Synchrons to make a Quick Synchron deck.

Infernities are only around 300.

Additional Comment:

No, I'd actually price it at around 230...

No, you don't.

Barrier is a very expensive card, but simply is not necessary. You can get by perfectly just by using 2 Bribes and a Solemn.

I don't know. I'd say if you want powerful monsters while still maintaining some speed and swarming capability, I'd suggest Hopeless Dragons, Disaster Dragons, etc. (other brolic dragon decks revolving around Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon). I was going to suggest Frogs because they're fast and cheap but they're not really "powerful." I'd also suggest X-Sabers but I feel they're a little hard on the pocket of a new player so I didn't (even thought by saying this I'm basically suggesting it).

Disaster dragon is your best bet. get a few ancient prophecy and absolute powerforces for the wyverns and red eyes darkness metal dragons. Then some staples online like bottomless. Get some trade ins online also and do some trading and disaster dragons

You could also go with 3 Machina Mayhem structure deck lolol. But seriously and play it aggresively. Solidarity plus "+1's"??? You have your beatdown deck..

Machinas don't suit an aggressive playstyle.

If you want a Beatdown, I can't do much for you. I specialize in cheap OTK/ Swarm decks.

If you want my advice, go with a frog OTK/FTK. They are cheap. They also don't cost much! =D

PM me if you want the Decklist.
P.S. My win/loss ratio with this deck is 25/1

Ok so I have some cards that are personal favorites:
Blue-Eyes White Dragon
Dark Magician
Black Rose Dragon
Jinzo
Red-Eyes Black Dragon

From what I gather I would like a deck that is just a single type, ie. plant or dragon type that gets powerful monsters out there, overwhelming my opponent
Any suggestions for this?

dragons are powerful and speedy. a deck you might wanna look into is a stardust assault mode deck. You're opponent can't do anything and you just beat their life points down to nothing. i like it. i run one too. lmk if you have any questions.

Blackwings or Infernity OTK.

Infernity OTK is a deck where you just swarm the field and win the game as soon as possible. It is one of the easiest decks to play next to Lightsworn.

If you want a deck that's not so expensive, start out with the new Duelist Toolbox starter deck. Get some Quick Synchrons to make a Quick Synchron deck.

Stop giving him bad advice. Infernity is one of the hardest decks to play.

Anyways, If you want a good deck, pick up 3 of the Machina Mayhem Structure Decks. With the 3 decks, you can build a Gadget deck in no time. It may not be your playstyle, but it is an extremely good deck for a low price. Next, go buy staples. Stuff like Heavy Storm, Torrential Tribute, Smashing Ground, Book of Moon, and Mystical Space Typhoon shouldn't cost no more than a dollar each. Then, when you feel ready, pick up a Mirror Force (although it is getting reprinted as a common in Structure Deck - Marik, people might sell theirs for cheap).

dont buy 3 machina mahem.. it's so boring.

play something fun. something you like. I'm sick of people saying to buy 3 machina mahem. wure they're a good started deck, but if you don't like them whats the point? waste of money imo

I'm a returning player and if this guy is new I don't think he understands a thing of what is being said :P

Starting out? Structure deck. Simple lol... Once you understand a little more, move on to more complex things. They're cheap decks, so get a few if you can. Then mix cards from them since they won't have more than a few really useful cards. This is advice from a newbie on how to start out.

if you have the money, sure, buy some structure decks. if not, save up, research a deck, build it online (Via a program such as YVD, PM me for that info if you want it), and practice on there. that's what i would do anyway, but then again, i don't have spare money so i want to be sure i wanna buy what i am buying.

Well funny enough I do understand what their saying, I do my homework. Anyways, I'm leaning towards a dragon swarm varient deck that seems promising to me, I would like to veer away from mainstream decks such as machina gadgets, x-sabers, infernities etc because overplayed decks lead to people having counters for them always. If anybody wants to help me build it, that would be great too.

would you be interested in a Stardust assault deck? that's a good dragon deck to build, yet isn't too common.

lDragonite

Hmm to be honest I don't know what that is exactly.
I'm thinking of using the Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Trade-In, white stone of legend as a base for my deck. Could we mix the two to make it competitive?

Sobia6464
06-26-2010, 10:02 AM
a blue-eyes stardust assault? not possible imo. look up the card Stardust Dragon /assualt mode on yugioh.wikia.com and you'll see what i mean. just read the card text and imagine =]

EDIT: Actually. nvm. did it for you so you dont have to waste your time.

3000 ATK / 2500 DEF

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except with its own effect or with "Assault Mode Activate". You can Tribute this card to negate the activation of a Spell Card, Trap Card, or Effect Monster's effect, and destroy that card. If you negate an effect this way, you can Special Summon this card from your Graveyard during the End Phase. When this card on the field is destroyed, you can Special Summon 1 "Stardust Dragon" from your Graveyard.

So what is the basis for a stardust assault deck then?

Sobia6464
06-26-2010, 10:13 AM
well Assault Mode Activate and Stardust Dragon and a synch engine.

to synchro stardust easier, it would be best to run a flamvell synchro engine (3 flamvell firedogs and 3 flamvell magicians along with 2 Rekindling) easy level 8 synch. those are just some cards that need to be in here. reccommend have 2 stardust assault modes but 3 assault mode activates because the can be used with mosnter such as Assault Beast or Assault Mercenary.

Yes, he took my idea. I hope the Dragon-variant deck works out well for you.

Additional Comment:

Also, if you want to run Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Trade In, other cards that might work well include:

White Stone of Legend
Cards of Consonance
Future Fusion
Red-Eyes Wyvern
Totem Dragon
Burst Breath
Stamping Destruction
Dragon's Mirror (maybe, usually for FGD but I guess you can use it for Blue-Eyes Ultimate as well if you have all 3 Blue-Eyes White Dragons in your Graveyard)
Other High-Attack, Important Dragons (Prime Material Dragon, Yamata Dragon, Genesis Dragon, THESE ARE UP TO YOU AND YOUR PLAYSTYLE)

It's mostly just Dragon support.

Well since your leaning towards dragons you can try;
Deep Draw Dragons
Hopeless Dragons
Disaster Dragons
Not a dragon expert though; but I've played with the Deep Draw variant. Or you can try the Stardust Assault route.

There are four things you could do...

Blackwings, Blackwings, Blackwings, and if you're on a budget, Calculator/Junk Warrior OTK.

If you are in favor of dragons since you've listed several of them as some of your favorite cards, try out the Hopeless Dragon and Disaster Dragon decks.
