Obelisk the Tormentor

With the release of the new god cards, is the old Obelisk the Tormentor playable with the new card text?

e.g. If I have a copy of the older, more bad-ass version, can I play the card as the JUMP version?

i played around with it for fun, since frog monarch can support a triple sack. IT WAS SUUUPER CRAPPY. got hit by smash. then next game got hit by force. the only common targeted removal is pretty much just D-Prison. smashing/fissure/force are all fair game. torrent and bth are stopped by it's other effect. overall, it's pretty bad, but it was fun to summon god? so if you don't care if you win or you actually WANT to lose card advantage, go for it, it's hilarious. as far as actual practice it's meh.

Hardened Armed Dragon. It protects Obelisk from that ****. Seriously look it up

I don't have to. I read the coverage from the YCS. That deck didn't top for a reason. Waaaay too situational and hard to protect, sure if it works you win, but just way too unlikely. Sorta like the old Victory Dragon decks.

I'd just use the original God Cards with their anime effects. **** the new "legal" TCG bull**** that Konami made to make the Gods look like twatwaffles (mainly Ra).
