Question about Mirrodins core

i just got the card Mirrodins core it reads:
Tap: Add 1 Manato your mana pool.
Tap: Put a charge counter on Mirrodin's Core.
Tap, Remove a charge counter from Mirrodin's Core: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool.

since its a land can you tap and put a charge counter the same turn your play it, or does it have summoning sickness.

Only creatures are affected by summoning sickness. All permanants have summoning sickness, but it will only take affect if that permanant is a creature, or turned into a creature somehow before that permanant has been under your control continuously since the beggining of your most current turn.

The term "summoning sickness" was taken away after creatures were changed from "summon - type" to "creature - type". It isn't really used anymore, but it's just common knowledge that creatures can't tap on their own until they have been under your control since the beginning of your upkeep.

Technically, only creatures have summoning sickness as only creatures are summons.
