I decided to start this thread because of how i asked my current girlfriend out and it's pretty funny. tell your similar stories here if you'd like. follow all pojo rules, no spamming/flaming and try to keep it clean with the language.
I was talking to this girl for three days before meeting her. We had sex on the first night, later that night a good friend of mine calls, she asked who she heard in the background and I i started to say, "It's my..." then i stopped, went over to her and said "Are you my girlfriend?" she goes "What?" Than i said, "Am I effing you and other girls or just you?" she goes "Me!" okay, and I continued my conversation on the phone.

That's pretty funny. I asked a friend of mine out, and she was like, "No thanks", and I was like, "Now? Now? How about now?"
She still hasn't gone out with me, but she knows how much I like her. We're really good friends. But I'mma keep trying!

On the bright side, she said she likes me more than her ex-boyfriend . . . and if I recall correctly, that was before they broke up. But she might have said that afterward. Still, it's something. And also her ex-boyfriend told me that even when they were dating, she still talked to me more than she talked to him.
I don't know if that means anything, though. BTW, I asked her out in spring of '09, and all of this happened recently.

well if she talked to you more than him, that means she sees you as a good friend. if she really is a good friend, dating her might mess that up for the both of you so be careful with that.
come on people, i know there's a lot of people here who are single/haven't dated before, but there's got to be some funny stories floating around pojo.

That's what I was thinking, 'cuz she kinda hates her ex-boyfriend now, but I won't be a jackass like he was.

I was walking through a certain city and bumped into her, so I apologised and asked if I could make it up to her. The answer I got was 'Walk me back to my chemo session if you mean it'. It turned out to be the best relationship I could have had.

tehre, how long ago did she break up with him?

i've experienced a couple of deaths that hit real close to him as well, but not the "love of my life" per say. my gf now, i have never felt this way over someone and we've been together for barely a month. on top of that, i was once married so i have been truly in love, but never like this....lets try to get this thread back on topic though so that it doesn't get locked for spam/trolling or whatever it's being called now adays. *isn't exactly up to par on pojo lingo anymore.*

But she knows that I'd do practically anything to make her happy.

well screw it man. go balls to the wall and get her before you lose her to someone else. good things come to those who wait, but sometimes to wait for something good you got to make something happen.

You should consider that a compliment.

Did you like knock her down or something? I accidentally bump into people all the time, but it hardly ever constitutes me feeling like I should make it up to them.
I personally haven't had enough relationships to have anything funny/weird happen and I should probably find a secure job before I put myself back on the market.

Yeah, I knocked her over, her parents went balistic. You never forgive yourself about the small things..

Normally I'd agree, but I don't think she's ever put herself out there too much, so I think I have time. Maybe I should wait a little before asking her out and use that time to get closer. We're already pretty good friends, but I think I can do better.

I got one. This happened at work. Well my co-worker is a full blown idiot. We were having a meeting, and the idiot randomly says he's crushing on one girl. So one of the other guys calls her, and has her on speaker phone. She answers, and the idiot asks her. While me, and 3 others were laughing. Needless to say we've made it awkward for the girl.

Actually I did type something, but it was meant for another topic, and it's gotta be 10+ so I fgured that was better than "filler 10char" :p
Additional Comment:
My friend's idea of asking a girl is a lame pickup line, as in "Is there a mirror in your panties? 'Cause I can see myself in 'em"
So in a way, it was memorable for me 'cause that was the first time I'd seen a lady smack him so hard it knocked him down XD

considering my current situation (jobless, divorced, blah blah blah) compared to my gf's (still in high school with a promising future in welding) she's dumb for wanting to date me. sometimes, us "how the hell" guys get those "why the hell are you with him?" girls.

MY GIRLFRIEND
Tch, everyone knows you're scared of women, Mr.Brooker.
Anyway, I don't really have a memoriable one. Everytime I've asked a girl out (with success) it's been rather...average.
"Hey, wanna go out sometime?"
"yeah ok"
*Start dating*
*Argue*
*Break up*
It's a vicious cycle.

Oh, the stories I could tell you, if this wasn't a family friendly message board and I didn't want to blow the puny little minds of TCG players who's idea of a relationship is holding hands and peeping through her bedroom window.
