Do EV's count...

...BEFORE the Pokemon is captured, if it knocks out one of your Pokemon?
Example: Your Pidgeot gets KO'ed by the wild Mewtwo. Does it(Mewtwo) get the 3 speed EV's after you capture it?

Well I am just guessing, but if they knock out your Pokemon and then you catch it they aren't any closer to leveling up right? So if they don't gain experience then they probably don't get the EV??

Thanks anyway, but I think the EVs are automatically recorded when your Pokemon KOs something.

i think the EVs won't be recorded. i don't believe they will give you EVs unless you are under control of it.

Absol asked this a LONG time ago and no one was able to answer it. Just test it out yourself. If Mewtwo KO'd your Pigeot, see if you can feed it 10 Carbos.
