OK first of all. Is there breeding in this game or do I have to trade over to Ruby/Sapphire to breed?

Also, how do I know which Pokemon should get which EVs? Like, just say Blastoise needs 252 attack and 252 defense, but Pikachu needs Speed and attack, *that was just an example* How do I know which pokemon need which?

And, how do I know how many I have into each pokemon? Do I have to count it myself?

One last thing. I may sound like a newb....it's because I have been playing Pokemon games forever but never got into EV training and junk.

Yes, the breeding feature is included in this game

But you have to finish the game first, and get to the Islands.

As for EVs, you can give them whichever EVs you want, a lot of people are just consistent.

For EVs, you have to take it on a case by case basis, though there are some general guidelines to follow. If you have tier speed, (130/120 base), MAX it. And get an IV of 31. Sweepers should have 252 speed, 252 in an attack stat, and 4 in HP, generally. If you're using Agility, Salac, or Agility, give enough EVs in speed to top 394 in one Dragon Dance/Agility/Salac activation.

There are some Pokemon that are defensive against one type of attack. Skarmory is a physical wall, because it's almost impossible to touch with physical attacks. It has no physical weaknesses and INSANE defense. So max defense and HP and you can do some nice stalling against physical attackers. Ludicolo also has high special defense and no special weaknesses. So max defense and HP.

When using Leftovers, give enough HP EVs so that your HP is one more than a multiple of 16. That way, you get maximum Leftovers recovery, and you can survive Burn/Poison a turn longer.

Generally speaking, HP EVs are better than defensive EVs. For the last 4 leftover EVs, you can either put them speed or HP.

Fallen Ronin has a guide? Really? Hmmm. I must have missed it. Can you post a link to it please.

Got Guides?
