View Full Version : Pojo CAP Project - Discussion
Would you all be interested in starting a Create-A-Pokemon Project on Pojo? It's not your typical battling project, so I'm hoping that would keep it active.
In case you don't know what CAP is, it's basically where we create a fake Pokemon that would be competitively viable. At least that's how I understand it, someone that understands it better (coughitsukicough) please fill in any loose bits that I left out, as I'm sure there are some.
This is just something that I've wanted to take part in, but Smogon's is too advanced and too serious for me to enjoy it.... lol. Plus, I think it'd be a fun thing to do here on Pojo.
Discuss Please.
This isn't for actually discussing a CAP Pokemon, it's for deciding if we want to do one or not.
First of all, I don't know enough about it to run it, so I won't even attempt to try. I wouldn't know where to start when posting a thread about it, I just want to see one done.
Does anyone know anything more about it and how it's run?
Sounds simple...
Now, let's hear from some others on rather or not they are interested in this...

I've added a poll to this thread to take a vote on whether or not to do a CAP Project, yes, that's right, a poll. :D

It's probably destined to fail like most of the other Pojo projects, but I don't see why we shouldn't try it if we get a bit of interest...
I agree, and perhaps it won't fail since no real battling would be involved, all you would have to do is get on and discuss it in a thread.
I see people have voted No but no one has posted saying a reason or anything, the poll is great, but please share with us why you voted in such a way, same if you vote yes.

whats the point if we can't get it into a shoddy server to use?
I personally would enjoy just making a set of 'fakemon' for fun.

Meh, I could make some "fakemon" myself. TBH if we aren't using them I wouldn't really be interested... Kind of a waste of time, IMO.

and who here in the pokemon section would do the art, or are we just ignoring that aspect? w/e, waste of time, but could still be good to teach new people why and why not a pokemon typing/moveset is overpowered or underpowered etc. I voted no, but I really don't care, idk why I voted at all
We have many artists here, I'm sure someone could manage to do some spriting.

why does noone post in the fan art section?
and I know a few do art, but I have never seen them do spriting. And if they had a real interest in it they probably would have tried on smogon already, and as far as i know none have.
Is art really necessary if we're not going to be using them on Shoddy, which we won't unless we get a server through a miracle...

Go for it if you want; I don't see why there is a vote on it. I rather doubt there are artists/designers/etc. to do much with this, especially since, as mentioned, we can't use the Poke.
I made this thread, and then poll, to make sure there was interest in it. I don't want to start the thread and then keep bumping it to no avail every day and then eventually just get it locked.
However, I think I will go ahead and make a thread to start the first creation of a CAP Pokemon.
