IIRC it is currently going for about 30, but expect that to drop once people realize how slow and fragile the card is

fragile yes, slow no.
I do expect it to go down though, 30 is pretty high for even a mythic so unless it sees play it'll probaly settle to about $25ish give or take. It COULD go as little as $20 or so but it would be a long term drop. Sarhken took forever to get off his high horse despite seeing almost zero play for months.

I hope it settles for much less. I'd love to get a playset of these. I think around $15-20 should be its price. Although, seeing that it loves these new fetch lands as well as Terramorphic Expanses, it will probably be high in demand - making it more expensive that I want for it to be.

Honestly I say $15.00-20.00 It's not a powerhouse or anything, just a damn good mana accelerator with substantial vulnerability.
The card is really strong tho.
Having access to 5 mana on turn 3 is pretty ridiculous. Especially completely splashable.
Thank god for Primal Command being gone.

The problem is "damn good" is more likely to fit into decks than powerhouse. For example noble hierch sees alot more play than baneslayer angel even though the angel is house against pretty much anything.
After playing with cobra I gotta say I'm dissapointed that wizards made him mythic. Is he house like baneslayer? No but if someone puts a deck up in the standard forum and you make the suggestion +4 lotus cobra will you be giving him good advice? Yes (unless the deck already has cobras)
This is the definition of staple card.

Glad I picked these up. Have a mill deck and the cobra with a fetchland can get turn 3 traumatize. It's not just the traumatize either, it provides mana for a twincast, or other small stuff. If you can keep it on the board it's pretty sweet... sometimes that 1 mana makes a world of difference.
Got me for about $50+/- worth of trade stuff, mostly pretty old, for a playset

Lotus cobra is a perfect reason to run point removal.....

But running Lotus Cobras #5-8 in the sideboard is so freaking tech.
I honestly expect Cobra to steadily drop over the years like Birds of Paradise, but it won't be a quick decline in price.

So I've had to eat my words this time:p
He can be as low as 13 and is about 15 on average right now and overall zen is dropping so I agree. Sarhken still amazenly pulls about $6-$8 despite being the first big mythic to tank.
Meanwhile to real mover and shaker baneslayer is currently worth the price of a firstborn.

My firstborn was free, hurray for no protection!!!
My bet is that in less than 6 months Cobra will stay sitting at $15 a piece.

I see it going even lower. I've never felt that this card was worth the hype and, right now, I think it's moved on from the stage where the price floats because people are experimenting, to the stage where people are keeping the price up because they feel it has to be worth something. Another few months, and it'll hit the next stage: people giving up, because it's just not returning the investment. It works in places, but it's not that good.
I'm going to call the ten dollar mark by the time the next block hits, unless something in Worldwake or Eldrazi pulls a deus ex on it.

I can see what you are saying. It really is the first mana producer of it kind, so the new and awesome feeling is keeping the price up there. Kinda like Sarkhan Vol was for a while.
$10 does seem like a good call on price with your logic.
