Looks to me that support for Cloudians, Crystal Beasts, and possibly Volcanics may not appear from the manga after all.
This means that KONAMI's R&D are now free to design those themselves instead of relying on cards being showcased. Though I guess that also means that now even more pressure will be exerted for them to make these cards.
They did it with Reptiless, Fortune Ladies, and Spiders so its clear enough that they don't need to rely on the manga/anime to print support for decks.
As for the chapter,
Jesse/Johan being a bug catcher/collector/watcher(?) was definitely surprising to me, though it does kind of suit him with his personality unchanged and whatnot. :)
Adrian/Amon's new deck suits his persona more than the Cloudians did (at least artistically), but boy his new cards look punishing.
The new Yokai for Bastion/Misawa.....need to look up the reference.
Blizzard Princess looks pretty neat from what we can tell of her so far.

Yeah! Look at all the new amazing Crystal Beasts, Cloudians and Volcanics that have come out recently! :(
Neat. I actually read a chapter before it was talked about on Pojo. Go me. (Well, read is a bit of a misnomer, as I don't know Japanese...)
Anywho, it's not confirmed that Johan uses an Insect deck. It's very likely, but it could also be a Colour Animal deck. I think I preferred the Crystal Beasts, but of course one card doesn't give a clear indication as to the coolness of one's entire deck. And I also liked the Cloudians better than another bloody "X Beast" archetype. Alas.
It's a shame Misawa and Asuka (Been a while since I've typed non-dub names) are going to get their butts handed to them to show off how good Amon and Johan are. Those two really need to win more.

To be fair I didn't mention anything about recent support. I meant that later on they can do this "supporting anime Archetypes thing" on their own without having to rely on the anime/manga to showcase the majority of them.
It would be a nice change that seems likely to happen if Stardust Overdrive is any indication of it happening.
Have a little faith. :p

Somewhat of an unexpected match. Never expected the duels to be tag duels let alone the matchup they have set up (Asuka/Misawa VS Johan/Amon).
I was proven wrong that Johan is not using the Crystal Beasts but he may very well use some color insect theme. Amon is using a "Forbidden" deck to reflect on his use of Exodia in the anime but something radically different in general. Misawa and Asuka just use their normal manga decks with some interesting cards.

Expect their boss cards. Though if there are a lot of important cards, maybe a Premium Pack'll have the non-boss cards too.

Summary from Janime: Drag over to reveal
Chapter starts with people talking about the duelists from America (commenting about how there's 4 instead of 5 and how there's no females among them.) Judai and Manjoume talk in private about the Duel of Darknesses and how there might be people in the American duelists who have powers similar to Rabb. Judai ends the conversation saying he'll beat the person who put Koyou into a coma. We find out via Amon that the Principal will make the person who wins the inter-school battle a Pro Duelist (like Edo.)
Judai and Sho meet up with Johan by a butterfly traveling past them who proceeds to ask if they had seen a butterfly in English, confusing Judai and Sho, and runs off into a bush. Johan resurfaces from the brush addressing Judai and Sho by name and deck and introducing himself. Sho asks what his deck is but Johan doesn't tell and runs off. Judai says he has a good idea what it is already.
The competition starts and Chronos announces that they will be starting things off with a Tag Duel, which will be decided via slot machine. The slot pits Johan and Amon against Asuka and Misawa. Johan's summoning of the weak White Papillion prompts Amon to figure he can't trust Johan and takes him for someone who'll just get in his way. Meanwhile, Asuka draws her Ice Princess and Misawa hopes that he'll redeem himself on his next turn.

They don't need to win more, they need to win at least once!
Afterall Misawa's win with Reggie wasn't really true since she decided to lose.

Johan with insects is, odd. After being so connected to the Gem Beasts, it just seems so random, unlike the decks so far, which have had some kind of connection to their anime counterparts. This isn't a bad thing, it's just going to take a while (or one really epic chapter) to accept 100%. It is nice that Johan finally got some personality, though, and is less of a Judai clone, while still being enough like him to justify them becoming quick friends.
Amon's deck doesn't interest me that much. His Sealed Beasts could be related to, or may just be a reference to his use of Exodia in the anime, which is nice. They certainly fit his style much more than the goofy-looking Cloudians did, so that's good.
I'm actually more thrilled that Asuka is getting her first full-length duel since her duel with Judai. Asuka and Misawa will most-likely lose again (let's face it, they're no Ryo and Fubuki) but it's still nice. I'm hoping she'll get to defeat Jim, or a possessed Fubuki later, though.

Hard to say, they could since they are overseas duelists and Jim had one, however Tragoedia may have only given them to those that were under his control (Dave, Reggie and Jim), after all you wouldn't want to give someone a powerful item which they could use against you.
