Just a suggestion - I think it'd be easier to reveal teams to one another but joining a trade right before the battle, looking at each poke, then leaving when you're ready.

That saves typing, and you're already on WiFi.

I had already suggetsed that but he doesn't want the opponent to look at the movesets however, both players can just look at the Pokemon then exit.

that's not a bad idea to allow them to see the movesets though, I mean if anything it can help you strategize even further.
