Ok Ive got an urge to draft and theres a draft this Friday at my local magic shop sooo Ive drafted once and that was the shards block Shards/Conflux/Alara and i did pretty poorly at that 13/16 so i wanna try and get a little better this friday and all three are M10 now my question is

what is the best cards to look for in an all M10 Draft can anyone hlep me out with this?

Okay, okay, okay. Whew... I assume you're new to drafting? Here's a mantra I've heard before about pick order:

Bombs
Removal
Evasion
Affinity (fixing, etc.)
Dregs (everything else)

That should help, and remember to stay in colors, if you're new. Splashing requires finesse, so unless it's a 1-color splash for, say, Thraximundar when you were in Jund, avoid that if possible.

If you're drafting M10, try to stay in 2 colors. Make sure you get enough removal! Red and Black are the two best colors for removal, but every color has something. Go with what flows.

I was using the draft simulator on the magic main site (i know it wont be the same) and I was getting some nice red and green cards. if i can pull off the same again would it be worth it?

also what would be considered a bomb?
and if I see Lightning Bolts grab em right?

Lightning Bolts are excellent cards.

A bomb would be something like Baneslayer Angel or Ant Queen. Something that, if your opponent can't answer it, will win the game.

true, and if i see a baneslayer i dont care what im running im grabbing it and ill make it work thats more a game winner than anything i can think of right now.

so basically grab a good card to use as a game winner and build around it?

the only advise is go with colors you're comfortable with, and rare draft so you can sell off cards later :3. Also from what i see in m10 so far, there are answers to everything, so you baneslayer might just run into a doomblade. so do your best and good luck

ya ill take ur advice to heart. I drafted bant colours in my first draft. u know to try it out. I passed up alot of good black and red cards which im very very comfortable with and know inside and out. So i was hoping to go red, black, or green. maybe blue if i can get the mill cards bhut id need jace and atleast 2 tome scour for that atleastand that aint gonna happen/work well.

but im hoping for my dumb luck to work in overdrive and just hand me cards that will work well for me pray for me!

Okay, I'll suggest this one thing for you right now: DO NOT go for the mill deck in draft. It just doesn't work unless you know the format like the back of your hand.

It's M10 right? If so go for something like R/G or R/B, anything that's allied coloured basically.

ok i was just looking and i cant really figure out what to choose ive been using a draft simulator and white red looked really good

Additional Comment:

Just got home from the draft Placed...8th! there was 8 people there. I was the 8th person to sign up...

But i was able to get my Jace from M10!!! Totally pays off the draft with that.

I buggered myself up when I drafted I was going to go Red/Black then started grabbing green but then i went back to black which i think is waht ruined me in the end. ill try drafting again in the future

Going R/X with a splash isn't really that bad of an idea but trying to draft both a R/B and R/G deck probably was what messed you up. Still, it's a learning experience right?

Somewhere here I posted a site that features draft walkthroughs with Luis Scott-Vargas, a professional Magic player and considered by many to be among the best. Check out some of his SCR drafts to get ideas on what does and does not work.
