Goofy ideas - in the future

I was reading a book that predicts what might happen in the future:

1. Snape is a Vampire

2. Lupin is really Harry's Father (Body Switching Spell)

The more I re-read the books ... these things could easily be true. Ever give these any thought??

Snape is alway "flitting around" ... and when Snape assigned an essay on werewolves, lupin assigned an essay on vampires. Snape went to Filch when he was hurt ... not Pomfrey ...

I think I can disprove all those right now, but I'm not going to. Except for that vampire essay...that's a weird coincidence.

A woman that I worked with on the Pojo magazines in an Editor.

She edited a book called: "Ultimated Unofficial Guide to the mysteries of Harry Potter"

It has a lot of fun predictions. I listed to the books in my car, and when you hear some of the stuff ... it seems like some of the predictions are pretty good. This book only goes up to Book 4.

The focus on every little tidbit in the first four books ... and it's 400 pages long. My daughter thinks it's a bunch of rubbish ... but I like some of the predictions. They tell you what all the people's names mean, and where they originate:

"JKR took Hermione's name from Shakespeare's "The Winter's Tale" This is a key clue! It is highly likely that Hermione's fate will parrallel that character (more twist endings). HP Sleuths should bone up on their Shakespeare."

"In an interview with Time Magazine, JKR said that she is "surprised" no one is usually concerned about Hermione. JKR says she considers Hermione to have a lot of "vulnerability".

They dig up clues from AOL chats, and a ton of interviews. And small clues from the books. It's a pretty good read. I don't know if they updated it for book 5.

Looks very interesting... I can't say I considered those views before. Snape being a vampire would explain a few things.. but what's the logic behind Lupin being James in disguise?

That was a quote taken from an interview with JK Rowling. Notice she said 'I don't think so' instead of 'no'. So it may be true Snape is at least part vampire.

One other thing to listen for is "who has long fingers!" THey are probably very powerful.

One's i've heard:

Dumbledore (many times), Dobby, Tom Riddle (spins the wand in his very long fingers), and in Book 5 Trelawny (so maybe she's not totally a loon).

This has most likely been thoroughly discussed among the members here, but I think Petunia is a witch. Or at very least a squib. After a little talk about book 5 with my aunt, we've concluded that there are enough clues to suggest such a thing.

For instance, the way in which she worded Petunia's denouncment of Lily attended Hogwarts ("when she got her letter") makes one think.

If you ask me, all of these things, Snape being a vampire, socks, the number 12, long fingers, are all just red herrings set up by Jo. I doubt they have any big impact on the story.

Yeah. Another theory though might be because there's another magical anomoly/condition that we do not know of...like becoming magical too late perhaps? Or having magic...but not enough to DO magic. Get what I'm saying?

McGonnagol states in the 5th book that Harry has no relatives left. I think James would count...

Petunia CANNOT be a squib. Her family has to be all wizards and witches. Lilly is the only witch in the family. Anyways Jk said she is not a squib.

I am sorry to offend but if you go the Jk's offical site, she says that Petunia is a plain old muggle in her interview at the Edinburgh book Festival. I would agree that she knows more than she admits to about magic though. Oh by the way I did read the whole topic. :D

just to continue debunking the whole petunia/magic thing: Petunia was Lilly's sister. Lilly's family (unlike the dursleys) was receptive to her abilities and thus Petunia would have been exposed to magical terminology during the summer. It's perfectly reasonable to assume that that accounts for all of her magical knowledge.
