His name is not Ash, it's Red. Get it right.

I'm excited to battle Red again. I just hope they made him a little better this time around. You can't have Barry be the strongest trainer in the games, it has to be Red.

Snorlax was in his team he first time around. That was like, his best pokemon (Not the highest level, that was Pikachu. Snorlax is just SO much harder).

I'm hoping they give him the FR/LG E4 treatment, where all of his pokemon level up about twenty levels and he gets new Pokemon from the Generation above his. With all of the third gen references so far, I wouldn't be suprised if it went something like...

First Battle

Pikachu 81
Espeon 72
Snorlax 75
Charizard 77
Blastoise 77
Venasuar 77

Second Battle

Pikachu 100 (lol)
Espeon 92
Snorlax 95
Blaziken 97
Swampert 97
Scceptile 97

I'll be ready to fight Red again. LV100 Pikachu will fall to the hands of a Ground Pokemon that I will acquire in the game. :D

They should make him say something this time around.

Red's the strong and silent type, as pointed out by the waiter on the S.S. Anne. The fact that he doesn't speak reflects that. He also blacks out after you beat him, just like the main character from R/B/Y/FR/LG. lol

I like that he doesn't say anything. His quiet and serious nature is much better than Barry in DPPt. They have made the sidekicks/ rivals way too cheesy and I hope they don't change Red to be that way.

Looking more forward to fight with Silver again(the rival). Honestly even after Gary ****ing Oak (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbVXtuLEPZw&feature=channel_page), Silver is beyond comparsion. The guy steals his first Pokemon, trains his Pokemon to be powerful weapons, even has some character development(as best as a Pokemon game can get ;x), looks cool, has an AWESOME intro and battle theme.. this is just gonna be great.

I wonder if he'll wear the same outfit from FR/LG, or if he'll get another update. The same goes fro Blue, Brock, and all of the other returning characters.

He'll most likely have his FR/LG outfit. If they really plan on following in the steps left by Gold and Silver, he'll probably even have the same field and battle sprite as FR&LG too.

red isn't the strong silent type. he is actually a loud passionate and energetic type. read the comics to find that out. ash isn't red.

but with all the improvements its going to be a fun battle. i can see him being all in the 90's

Yeah in the comics he's really not that silent...pretty loudmouth in my opinion.

Anime Ash =/= Manga Red =/= Game Red

There is no correlation between the characters. They have nothing to do with one another, they are simply based off of the game's design for the character.

Game Red is the "strong silent type" because he never talks, ever.

Manga Red is definitely passionate and energetic, but again, different canon.

Ash is a moron however you look at him.

True on every account, especially Ash being a moron. I really wish there was a better main character to the anime.

Didn't he have a bit of dialogue with the Copycat in his games?

I never got to Red. Actually, I never beat the E4. I kept starting the game over for some reason. I remember always trying to use a non-starter Pokemon to beat the game. The farthest I ever got with a non-starter was Goldenrod with a Flaffy.

I know. I've been all the way to the E4 with a Furaligator but I couldn't beat it. I only trained him and didn't try to train other types that would help me.

Shatter
07-30-2009, 07:37 AM
It isn't that hard to beat the game with just one Pokemon. You just have to do more leveling than you normally would, which because you are only training on Pokemon isn't all that hard. You just have to give it a wide range of attack types and get it to be higher leveled than anything you face.

MG-42
07-30-2009, 11:01 AM
I never really cared otherwise I would not have kept starting the game over. I liked Silver, Gold, and Crystal but I never really cared about beating them. I beat Red and Blue prior to the game's release. But I just never really felt like beating Gold or Silver. It was more fun for me to just keep starting over.

Shatter
07-30-2009, 04:57 PM
I do that a lot too. I will usually play a game through once, restart and never make it through the game again. I will keep restarting and playing up to a certain point where I either get sick of the story or my team and decide it's time to start over.

MG-42
07-30-2009, 07:09 PM
That's the one thing I've always hated about Pokemon. That's why I wish I had Wi-Fi so I could do more but I'll just have to stick with using my modem for Xbox Live.

I had him using Slash and Strength. I couldn't remember the other ATKs. I was pretty young when the game came out though.

Aichi Sendo

I beat the E4 with just a Feraligatr on my first run-through, and I had a balanced team of six. That's when I decided that GSC was too easy, minus the insane level jump from Blue's team to Red's, which I just wasn't prepared for. lol

Didn't he have a bit of dialogue with the Copycat in his games?

Yeah, she mimics him when he first meets her. The waiter from the S.S. Anne and his lack of dialogue in gen. 2 implies that, for the most part, he's a quiet and strong person.

MG-42
08-01-2009, 03:35 AM
IDK. It was like I didn't have the attention span to do it. So, I was always acting like Ash in the games.

Aichi Sendo
08-01-2009, 12:59 PM
Oh, I wasn't trying to downplay you or anything. It's just that your Feraligatr story reminded me of my own childhood memory of playing Silver and I felt like sharing. lol

Mr.Missingno
08-01-2009, 02:28 PM
Back when I played Gold, I only raised two Pokemon.

1.Scyther
2.Cyndaquil

I never evolved any of them, and when it came time for the Elite 4, I had both of them near level 70 and I beat them without any items.

I really hope the AI is better this time around.

I hope they add a few new entries to the team, even though he hasn't really caught any new pokemon over the past years. Pikachu should be lv 255 by now, but i'm not holding out, he only caught/owns like 10% of the total number of pokemon

You're still talking about Ash, and the person in the games is not Ash! It's Red, the protagonist from Red, Blue, Yellow, FireRed and LeafGreen.

If this were Ash he could have a pretty decent team by now. But since it is not Ash he will stick to Red's team.

I would like to see a level bump for Red's Pokemon. I'm still disappointed that Barry has surpassed him as the strongest trainer in any Pokemon game to date. They should just make all of Red's Pokemon level 100 to end the debate and make him the strongest forever.
