UPDATE (3): Check out the info on some of the Pojo Server Bots (http://www.pojo.biz/board/showpost.php?p=13840611&postcount=27) I've installed.
UPDATE (2): The Pojo Server is officially listed on the Shoddy server list (it's down there at the bottom). To connect, simply follow the two methods of connection (in orange text after the next paragraph). Have fun!
UPDATE: The server is temporarily operational. Some people have already tried connecting to it. There is a problem, however; you will not be able to connect unless my computer is functional. I am still trying to find out the solution to the problem, but for now, try logging in and battling by following a few steps. There are two ways of going about this:
-Method 1-
1. Open Shoddy.
2. In the list of servers, find "Pojo Server".
3. Connect. You're in; enjoy!
-Method 2-
1. Open Shoddy.
2. In the list of servers, click Advanced.
3. For Host, put 202.156.67.84
4. For Port, put 22222
5. Connect. You're in; enjoy!
EDIT: Upon inspection it seems that this idea has been proposed before. I suppose I'm reviving the idea a little. If responses are positive, I will be able to get this running in no time. Furthermore, the old thread lacked description.
This is only an idea.
The Pojo Pokemon Forums have traditionally exercised the application of the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection with which to trade and battle, and the Wifi connection itself has resulted in the naming of the forum Diamond, Pearl & Platinum Wi-Fi Battle Request Forum. While Wi-Fi trading and battling does provide the element of graphic and acoustic pleasure, it is not without limitations. Such limitations usually tend to hinder a skilled player from reaching his or her full potential, which is not essential in battling. Here are some of the flaws of engaging in competitive Pokemon-related activities (specifically battling) over Wifi:
Pokesav: I was (and still am, to some degree) an avid opponent of the program that many of us consider a godsend. Some people don't comfortable doing battle with "legit hacks", while some others don't care. There is bound to be minor dispute related to this issue at some point in your competitive battling career. Also, breeders and legitimate Pokemon trainers can argue that they are at a more disadvantageous position than Pokesavers. After all, if they can't get a WishBliss, why should Pokesavers be able to? Pokesav is related to the next issue:
Breeding: Let's face it - breeding is a waste of time. Its rewards are excellent, but brief. Soft-resetting for acceptable IVs is a tedious and boring process, made more so by the recent Platinum RNG breakthroughs, and that itself will take time to learn. You will be proud of yourself if you have bred something you know is a fine product, but how long will that happiness last?
"Event Clause": While Event Clause is unrecognized as a standard competitive battling clause, players may choose to enforce it. The purpose of Event Clause is to ban any "legit hacks" from having event moves so that players are unable to spam Leech Seed Vileplume, WishMence, and most notably, the legendary Pokemon that was previously mentioned, WishBliss. These factors bring me to the topic of my discussion - creating a Shoddybattle server for Pojo. If you don't know what Shoddy Battle is, I will quote its creators' definition:
Shoddy Battle is the most popular pokemon simulator, a program that allows you to play pokemon matches with other people over the internet.
In other words, you will be able to freely build teams, find battles, and build up your rating. By using Shoddybattle, the three aforementioned problems about Wifi battling are solved instantly. Firstly, Pokesav. By using Shoddy, you will be able to battle freely, so there is no nonsense about how players hack their Pokemon. Secondly, Breeding. Shoddy allows the customization of IVs, EVs, moves, and others, to be at your discretion. Finally, Event Clause. The previous logic was "If we (non-Pokesavers) can't get WishBlisseys, then why should you (Pokesavers) get her?". With Shoddy, the logic is now "Everyone can use WishBlisseys. Hooray!" On another note, some people who have recently discovered the wonders of Shoddy find that Shoddy is actually faster and better without the very annoying "The Sandstorm Rages!" text, followed by the buffetting of Pokemon, followed by Leftovers Recovery, messages that battlers find particularly annoying and time-consuming.
By using Shoddy, there will be no problems about inability to connect to Wifi when it is down, where you have no signal, etc. Also, with Pojo's own Shoddy Server, a path that can potentially lead to the development of related projects (eg. Pojo Tiers) will open up.
READ: This is simply an idea. If you find that a Pojo Shoddy Server will destroy the tradition and history of Wifi, please do not think that I am trying to eliminate this forum. I am making a suggestion; you do not need to battle on the server if you don't want to. There will be no rewards, no official purposes (yet), no issues you're missing out on - it's simply a server with which to battle and boast about your ranking. The benefits have been discussed in the previous paragraphs, so please don't start swearing and flaming if you didn't read everything in this post.

I recommend that if you haven't already downloaded ShoddyBattle to try it out and experiment. Building a team is easy and can take less than 5 minutes if you have team members in mind. You will need the latest Java to use ShoddyBattle in order to have an error-free experience. Also note that many Smogon activities take place via Shoddy, so having a server of our own will be able to interpret Pojo as a competitive site as well.
If interest is expressed I will be able to design a Shoddy server with moderate ease; I have successfully managed to create one today, although it is simply an undecorated server not located in the main list of servers just yet. If you have any questions please post in this thread or PM me.
