There's the Japanese video game Neon Genesis Evangelion 2 coming out later, but as far as I know, its only in Japan. Then there's the live-action movie which nobody knows when it will be out.

How the hell do you make a live action movie with mechs?

CGI. There's an article on it in one of the recetn issues of Newtype.

the same way you can make a live-action movie with spaceships, dragons, anything. Special Effects, as said above. Even Star Wars has mechs (I class the AT-ST as a mech), and there's a live-action Gundam movie.

There's also that Director's Cut thing that's out. It's the last few episodes done again, or something. NGE2, despite it's name, isn't a sequel to the show, but more of a parallel. Sounds quite good. The live-action movie (working title "Eva: Project:RE") may be a good movie. CGI is being done by the guys behind Lord of the Rings and Jurassic Park, so don't worry about looks. As long as it has a good script and cast, it'll be a good movie. Look out for that in 3 or 4 years time, I'm guessing.

I'm against the idea of a Live Action Eva movie. Anyways, as far as I know Gainax has made the Directors Cut of Evangelion. So far its only the last couple of episodes with the scenes we were suppose to see. If you've see the final episodes you would know what I mean. Gainax had an extremely low budget when they made the final episodes for the Evangelion series back in 1995. And now Gainax has released the Directors Cut of those episodes that were made while Gainax had little money. I doubt they would make a Director's Cut of the first couple of episodes, but hey we never know til we hear more news.

This is a little off topic, but I'd like to see a Live-action Dynasty Warriors movie. I think that'd be cool.

Now that that's out of my system, to the question at the top. I heard that was only gonna be in Japan. Bummer, huh. I wish I could speak, read, and write Japanese...But nooo! I had to be born in Texas!

(Although, I still think Texas is great!)

Kinda off topic...... Bout the DW movie. They've probably made tons of of movies bout the Three Kingdoms Era in China or Japan. I heard there was a live action television series in Japan.

The NGE Director's Cut has been released in America already. Just check out ads in anime magazines. Go ahead and check out some sites or online stores lol, NGE Director's Cut has been released already. I heard they changed the dub voice of Gendo though.

When I said edited, I meant like the new remake of episodes 21-26, NOT a chopped up version of it that's rated like 7+.

I really don't like the idea at all bout Evangelion Live Action. I believe Auska's new name is Kate Rose. They are no doubt going to Americanize the crapp out of it and probably cut off all that physcological stuff, darker stuff, etec. BURN LIVE ACTIONS. Heh.

Oh, there are TONS of dramas in Taiwan, China, and Japan about the era of the Three Kingdoms. They are quite popular, if I must say so myself. ^^

I just dont like how there americanizing it, and changing it for the american audiance. and yes, the name was kate rose (how is auska hard to say). i dont mind the live action thing because I think it could be done well....but i know there going to ruin it somhow.

For those who have On Demand, they are playing both the Director's Cut episodes and the original episodes 21-26.

:D I am one happy anime fan.

*SPOILER FOR EPISODE 21!*

But I cried a little when I saw Kaji die. I liked him...
