Okay, I'm not really into these but I'm bored, and by myself at home and the Cavaliers game just went off so I have nothing to do. Fun right? Anyways, I woke up around 11:30 today, took a shower, did a couple things around the house, then left for the tourney.
The tourney is rather different than usual this time. It was $10 to get in and the prize structure was 1 GS2 pack for 3rd place, 2 for 2nd place, and 5 for first. Pretty good, at least I thought until I realized that there was 29 people that played, more than normal. To make that worse, 2 of the people won Gold Sarcs, and more of the rest have topped 3+ regionals and I've never even been to one. And the only cards I wanted from GS2 was Phoenix Wing Wind Blast and Bottomless Trap Hole. So before the tourney I trade someone for some Super Rare Shuras and a Dark Creator. I sign up, then we start.
Round 1: Dylan (Blackwings) VS Nick (Random Dark Synchro)
So this guy is pretty good and I'm glad I get to play someone who knows what they're doing. This match I really can't remember much because it was early and I was tired. All I remember is the last game. I had a Goyo from turn 1 and he had a lot of traps set. I attacked once and he had no response. I figured he didn't have Mirror Force so from there on he only set 1 more card and I decided to keep attacking instead of summoning, in case he had Torrential. That pretty much won me the game because he had 2 Bottomless, a Torrential, a Trap Dustshoot, and a Mind Crush. What a great set up. So anyways I win that one.

Round 2: Dylan (Blackwings) VS Marcus (Some New Chaos Deck)
I haven't played this guy yet, but he seems pretty cool and he traded me my Elphin. I'm not sure as this one was kind of early but I think I 2-0'd him. The last game was kinda sad and made me feel bad. He synchro summoned BW Armor Master and blew away my monsters. Next turn I brain his Armor Master and summon Elphin. I attacked with both then Book of Moon'd Armor Master during the end phase so he wouldn't get it back. From there I proceeded to slowly eat at his LP for game. Great match though.

At this point in the tourney I was kinda shocked as 2 of the best players in the shop were 0-2. My friend Tyree who won a UDE day and a guy named Tyrome who has topped at least 10 regionals, but lets continue.
Round 3: Dylan (Blackwings) VS Johnny (Blackwings)
Game 1: Pretty much, I was set this game. I had Goyo and something else first turn with Black Whirlwind and 2 set cards, can't remember 1 but the other was Book of Moon. The guy magically tops a heavy storm and gets rid of everything. He then proceeds to play 2 Black Whirlwinds, summons a Shura, and beats me down from there.
Game 2: Again in this one I "seemed" set. I do a bunch of stuff and end up with a Shura, Armor Master, and DSF. The guy summons Gale, halves my Shura, and Attacks it and drops Kalut. Then he drops his DAD he just drew and I'm like O_o. I then proceed to lose that game to Armor Master and DAD. I got sacked 2 games in a row. How depressing.

Round 4: Dylan (Blackwings) VS Drew (Gladiator Beasts)
Game 1: I got Armor Master and a Bora. I'm not sure how but it ended up with me having only a black whirlwind and 3 cards in hand (Sirocco, Gale, Kalut, and Brain Control). This guy has a Gyzarus, Heraklinos, and a f/d while I had 1900 LP. I brain his Herk and he chains Waboku. I tribute it Sirocco and pass. He attacks into Kalut and I proceed to beat him down from there. Great game.
Game 2: He starts and ends up beating me down from my bad hand and ends up with a Gyzarus while I have 1 card in hand. I top deck a Dark Eruption, get back Gale, run over Gyzarus, and it goes down hill from there due to a Kalut in hand. It was a Great match, probably the best all day.

So next is the Top 8 and only 1 Lightsworn deck out of 4 made it. Who would have thought. I was really hungry and I wanted to go to Burger King because my friend was going. Its only a 2 minute walk from the shop. But I couldn't go because I made top 8, so I had to stay and play. So he went with some other people and got some food for me.
Top 8 Match: Dylan (Blackwings) VS JJ (Stardust Assault Mode)
This is one of my good friends and his deck is actually pretty good.
Game1: He opens up with no good traps. Good for me. Pretty much I opened up and drew well, and he drew bad (Double Malicious, enough said). I win
Game 2: He once again opens with no good traps. I DD Crow'd his Malicious, he couldn't synchro summon or get any good monsters, I proceed to win.
Top 4 Match: Dylan (Blackwings) VS Theo (Dark Skill Drain I think?)
Game 1 and Game 2 were pretty much the same. It was just simple. I beat him down with Armor Master and took away his outs with Icarus Attack.
Top 2 Match: Dylan (Blackwings) VS Deontae (Lightsworn)
This is exactly what I was hoping NOT to face because Lightsworn normally beats Blackwings, thats just how its been going lately.
Game 1: It was simple, we were just going back and forth destroying each others monster until he uses JD. All my cards were on the field, I lose.
Game 2: He opens up BAD. I just beat him down. He Monster Reborns my Gale and runs over my monster as a last resort. I briefly win it from there.
Game 3: I think this might be my first game 3 of the day? Kinda strange, but I'm not gonna complain. Anyways, he overpowers me with a simple swarm. I get Black Whirlwind and all I would need is a Lv 4 Monster. Guess what I top decked the next 2 turns. Not a lv 4 Monster. I lost shortly later.
So it was an alright match, second isn't bad.
I get my 2 packs. Here's what I ripped: Bottomless Trap Hole, Phoenix Wing Wind Blast, Prime Material Dragon, Elemental Hero Captain Gold, Mind Control, and a Gold Sarcophagus. Pretty good, I got the Bottomless and Wing Blast I wanted, so the Gold Sarc just made it better. I thought i was good enough pulls for second place.
