I think Slave of Bolas is meh compared to the original art, but Marisi's Twinclaws is a BAMF.

Marisi's Twinclaws sucks, and Slave of Bolas' art is garbage. Way to go, great additions to your Paths/Hellsparks.

I still want to see some form of KoNA-Marisi's-Colossal Might Naya beatdown. It'd be a terrible but funny deck.

I am kinda mad about the Slave of Bolas art. I mean, the original was so, so good...

Well at least the Path to Exile promo was useful.

I'm fairly sure I'm one of the only people in my city to have one.
Path to Exile is a great card, and hellspark was ok too.

Slave of Bolas and Marisi's Twinclaws are nowhere as good as Path to Exile, Hellspark Elemental, Wooly Thoctar, or (only just) Sprouting Thrinax.

Pretty disappointing to be honest with you. SoB's art is pretty lame and Twinclaws isn't all that great of a card.

Zealous Persecution is a good pick. Bloodbraid Elf, Sigil Captain, or Behemoth Sledge would have been good.

Anathemancer and bloodbraid elf for spikes, Behemoth sledge would probaly be my pick over the anathemancer if I was wizards though due to the casual nature of these promos.

Anyway, WHY SWORDS!!! Cats have claws for a reason you know.

Any I have a promo and foil slave in my binder now, I keep them side by side as a lession to how bad promos can be compared to the original. Though to be fair the promo art to slave isn't bad, it just has unfair compitition.

No. I'm not sure what they are exactly, but I know that my TO gives out WPN Paths for FNM if he runs out of FNM cards.

To answer yours and ASOC's questions, there is no definate way. Each store who signs up with gateway promos gets 20 of each promo (always a pair) and a suggestion of how to run a gateway dueling event. (can't remember what its called)

Basically though the suggested method is to have the players play a sealed type format in a free for all recording who they played (record and order matter not) and allow these players to meet once or twice a week. 10 and 20 games gets you a promo.

However most stores don't do this and end up using them to supplement FNM or their own tournaments. Unlike FNM the promos are left to be distributed at the stores discretion, just no selling.
