Well I went to a local tournament in Tuscaloosa, AL yesterday and I did pretty good. I ran my Six Samurai deck and the matches were pretty fun. Anyways here's what happened to me there:
Match One: SS vs. Lightsworn
Game 1: I won when my opponent misplayed and tried to blow up my field when I had a Prime Material Dragon down.
Game 2: He owns me and I lose.
Game 3: This one was pretty hard. Turns out we both drew horrible hands in the beginning and were just playing off of what we drew. A lucky Karma Cut on a Celestia kept me from dying and I won after he couldn't stop my Grandmaster from hitting home.
Match Two: SS vs. Zombies
Game 1: I totally own him for a little bit, sadly though I couldn't get past Spirit reaper yet, until he drops DAD on me and blow up my field. Next turn I drop Grandmaster and Zanji, ram Zanji into DAD and proceed to win the game with Grandmaster. Oh I got by that reaper earlier with a Zanji.
Game 2: I drew one of those god hands that Six Samurai tend to draw and completely owned. It was like two Shiens, a Grandmaster, and Yachi. Ran into a turtle that fetched a Spirit Reaper but next turn I dropped Zanji for the win.
Match 3: SS vs. "some synchro deck"
Game 1: I open with another one of those god hands and win this one no sweat.
Game 2: I drew 5 magic and trap cards opening hand and my opponent Crush Card Virus me when I draw for my first turn. He got my Irou I had just drew. Needless to say the bad hand along with Crush sealed the game for me.
Game 3: I drew 16 magic and trap cards along with a yachi, shien, and Zanji. My opening hand was all magic and traps as well. Somehow I lived for a long time but that game was sealed when he bottomless the Zanji I got from the grave with monster reborn.
So I went 2-1 for that tournament, 5th place in all, and ended up getting a champion pack, RGBT pack, and Crimson Crisis pack. The only good cards I pulled were a common Royal Oppression and rare Necro Gardna from the champion packs so I was pretty fine with the outcome. It only cost 5 bucks to enter so those covered the price for me. Anyways next time I play I'll hopefully do better. My deck list is below.
