Rules of the Challenger:

You are allowed to use any Pokemon. Meaning, you are not limited to a certain number.
You can change your teams around, BUT if the leader thinks you stacked your team to beat their gym, they have every right to report you to me and get your badge to not be counted, and their loss will also not be counted. The following and more constitutes as a stacked team: an over needed amount of Pokemon resistant to the gym type, an over needed amount of Pokemon that are super effective to the gym type, or anything else that the leader feels is stacked.
You can only challenge a gym once every 24 hours.
Do not pm me, or anyone else, to get yourself or your badge added to the OP.
You must follow Standard rules, with Ubers banned unless otherwise stated in the specific gym you are challenging.
Anyone may join as a challenger, no special requirements are set.Rules of the Gym Leader:

You must choose from one of the 16 Pokemon types to be your specialty. You cannot choose a type already taken. You cannot choose another specialty, we'll let the Frontier handle the whacked out rules.
You can choose to either do single or double battles, but you must stick to what you choose. NO SWITCHING STYLES!
You are the one who should post the results of your match, whether you win or lose. Do not pm me, or anyone else, just post on the thread.
If you lose 3 times in a row, you are no longer a gym leader and will be replaced by your team.
You must be a registered user or Pojo veteran to be eligible to represent your team or to be in a tournament.
You are allowed 2 wild card Pokemon on your team, the other 4 must be of your chosen type.
If a challenger facing your gym uses a stacked team, you have every right to report them to me. To know what constitutes as stacked, read the second bullet in the challenger's rules. To report a challenger, pm me their team, and why you think its stacked. If you aren't clear and precise in the pm, I'll ignore it.Rules of the Champion/Elite 4:
Until we get an Elite 4 completely set up, this will be how it will work post-gyms.
When you collect all 8 badges, you will face the Champion. Whoever wins will be the Champion, whoever loses will take the next spot in the Elite 4(we will fill the E4 from 4-1).
Even once there is a few E4 members, you will continue to battle the Champion right after getting all 8 badges.When all of the Elite spots are full, here is how we will operate post-gyms:
After getting all 8 badges, you will face the Elite's in order, from 1 to 4. You can change teams throughout challenge though.
Elite battles will be played Standard OU.
If you lose during your challenge of the Elites, you will start back over at Elite #1.
Once you defeat Elite #4, you will face the champion. Whoever wins will be the champion, whoever loses will lose 4 badges at random and start again as a challenger from there(I will use random.org).Rules of the General Public:

Only post here if you are 1) reporting a match's results, 2) joining the gym league, 3) leaving the gym league, or 4) conducting some other business that has been directed to this thread.
If you are not a challenger, gym leader, team leader, or committee member, do NOT post here.
If you want to find a battle, use the Gym Battle Request Thread.
If you want to submit an idea you have for this project, use the Gym Suggestions Thread.
If you spam/flame this thread, and do not stop when asked to, you will be removed from the project. If continue to spam/flame after that, a moderator will be contacted.
Committee members and Moderators have the final say over all decisions regarding this project.
I reserve the right to disallow entry on any level regarding this project for any reason. Gym Counsel Members
The Gym Counsel is set up to support the League and keep it going. We will meet every week, days and times will vary, in the Gym Chatroom to discuss the progress of the League and discuss new, and old, ideas.

Perhaps I'll share my logic behind why I chose these 4:

Nacho - Helped out with the ruleset as it is now, is running the tournament, has maturity, liked by the majority of pojo.

Kane - Previously ran a gym league, has maturity

Itsuki - Has ran the apprentice program, is running the frontier, has maturity, knows alot about competitive battling

Fox - One of the few with a gym badge, seems to show interest in the project, maturity is growing.

Also, Grim and Ak will be on this committee as well, they just don't get a chance to accept, they were drafted, lol.

Each group of thr project is represented by 2 people from that group that show maturity, and are capable of doing the job. The groups represented are gym leaders, challengers, and pojo as a whole. I shall be the commissioner of the league.
If at any time a representative is unable, unfitting, or unwilling to be a part of the commitee, they shall be replace with better suited member from the group lacking a representative.
The Commitee will be contacted by myself periodically to discuss the progress of the project. We will then set a time to meet in one of the Xats to discuss what we've thought of..

When MMN explains this, and only MMN, I will add the badge.

Also, I remembered today that I missed out a new addition mentioned in the discussion thread awhile back. Leaders now have to give prizes to the winners of their gym. This prize can be any of the following:
-Well IV'd Pokemon of your gym type
-Well IV'd Pokemon of your type + a TM used on your team.
-Well IV'd Pokemon of your type + any item chosen by the challenger.
-A credit in your trade thread.

If you don't like any of these, and have an idea of your own, feel free to, but it must be cleared by me first.

Simply post here with whatever prize you choose, and I'll add it to the OP.

Rough Draft for E4/Champ Rules:

When the 1st person gets 8 badges, they are the champion. Once someone else gets all badges, they face the champion.
The winner is the champion, the loser takes a spot in the E4. The farthest from the beginning availalbe, from 4-1.
Once all spots are full, anyone who gets all 8 badges faces the E4 in order to face the champ at the end. If you lose midway thru E4, you must start over at the beginning of the E4.
If you lose to the champion once there is an E4, you lose 4 of your badges at random and start from there as a challenger. I think the elite 2 / 4 is a good idea, but most of the best battlers on Pojo are all gym leaders... Pojo would need to do some major advertising to get more people to make the gym leaders not get bored of the same people over and over.

Just a general question, why is the Registered User requirement needed in a project like this? True, we want active challengers and being a Registered user does prove that they are indeed active. Further, Registered Users are most likely not "noobs", as opposed to New users, but project really is one of the most interesting project on Pojo, and could be the leading force of influencing people to join Pojo. I think that the Registered User requirement should be re-considered at least. I would post this in the Gym Suggestions thread, but that thread kind of died, lol.

Well yeah, I can see both sides of the "issue". That was my point. But I don't think we should worry about "inactive members" as much in this project, considering there is an unlimited amount of players so it never hurts to add them. Not to mention we can remove inactive players. Further, some new members may get discouraged and decide not to join at all. And FloFlo is a pretty good battler, it seems kind of... silly... to force people who would obviously be active and productive members of the project to wait until they have enough posts or is a member for enough time to join the project.

I can see where Nacho is coming from. Plus, the only people that need to be active are gym leader / champions / elite 4s (and False still hasn't battled btw).
There is no scheduled time to battle, so challengers don't need to be that active, just pop in to the desu/gym/ladder quickly and see if a gym leader is on, battle them and that's it.
There should be a requirement for gym leaders and things like that, yes. But not challengers.

Well if other gym leaders agree, most challengers do this. I keep seeing the same pokemon over and over again. The worst part is that they are different strategies so it's hard to counter several ones at the same time. It's still a challenge so I'll simply keep trying till i get the right counters. lol

OK, so when I got bored today I decided I'd just play around with a way to organize and set up the Elites. Well, I set it up on a piece of paper, and just kinda doodled. By the time I was done, I had a pretty decent idea set up with one ??? at the end of it. If my scanner worked, and I wanted to mess with it, and I thought you could read my handwriting, I'd put the actual paper I did my brainstorming on on here. But, I'm just going to post it here, and hope it makes sense.

First, I wrote out 8 make believe challengers, named C1, C2, C3, and so on all the way to C8. Then I made 4 E's, E1, E2, E3, and E4. I also had the champion listed at the bottom. It looks like this:

Then I walked myself through different scenarios, that should cover everything that would come up.
Here it is:
-C1 beats all gyms and becomes the champion.
-C2 beats all gyms and loses to the champion, becomes the 4th Elite.
-C3 beats the champion, becomes the new champion, and the old champion(C1), is the 3rd Elite.
-C4 loses to the champion and becomes the 2nd Elite.
-C5 beats the champion, becomes the new champion, and the old champion(C3), is the 1st Elite.
-C6 beats all gyms and loses during his/her challenge of the Elites, goes back to Elite #1 and starts the Elite challenge again when ready.
-C7 beats all Elites but loses to the champion(C5), and loses 4 badges(chosen at random), and has to earn those 4 badges again as well as beat the Elites again.
-C8 beats the Elites and the Champion, and becomes the new champion. The old champion(C5) is in limbo.*

*I don't know what to do when the champion loses once the Elite spots are full. I could have it be where the champion loses 4 badges at random** just like the challenger does when the champion wins.

**I also don't know if I should make it 4 badges at random(using random.org) or to take away the last 4 badges, or the first 4 badges, earned as a challenger.

C4 - Elite #2
C5 - In limbo, see first *.
C6 - Starting over at the Elite #1 due to losing on first try.

E1 - C6 won, C7 won
E2 - C6 won, C7 won
E3 - C6 lost, C7 won
E4 - C7 won

Champion - Several lost, C8 won the latest.

Ridley, Nacho pm'd me saying he still wanted to be the gym leader, that is why I took conan off. I trust Nacho's judgement on how active he can be, so I allowed him to be back in.
That said, I have since been made aware that Nacho later posted on the Zeal thread saying that Conan could take it over, but had to give the gym back when he returned.
So, I will add Conan back, and add the one badge earned through Conan, as soon as I look to see who that was, lol
