Went up with a few friends for Nationals this year. Wasn't taking it too seriously, packing a half arsed Tele-Monk build with only 1 Monk/Rose.

Round 1 - VS Oppression Monarchs
Game 1
Opened against a friend from my locals which really sucked. I won the roll, pulled out an early Stardust and went on the beat for a few turns.
He semi-misplayed by Soul Exchanging my Rose instead of my Stardust because he wanted to remove it with Caius.
Unfortunately for him my teched Divine Wrath really shone here, negating his Caius. From there I got him down to 150 LP and Caius burn won the game.
Game 2
He opened and set Spy and Oppression.
I opened with MST, Skill Drain and Zombyra the Dark. Fair, ne?
He flipeds Spy and I chained Skill Drain. Then he activated Brain Control on my Stardust, attacked for 3700 and sacrificed Stardust for Thestalos.
I had Reborn in hand and pulled Stardust out again.
He had a handful of Monarchs and couldn't play around Skill Drain. Scooped it up a few turns later.

Round 2 - VS Macro/Plasma/Random/Rogue
Game 1
I won roll, summoned Stratos for Mali, set Dustshoot.
He drew, I dustshot his hand of Scout Plane, Solemn, Solemn, Bribe, Bribe, Torrential.
Stratos continually attacks until he has no life points left.
Game 2
He opened with Thunder King, Dimensional Fissure and 2 Bribes. I couldn't get around Thunder King, which sucked for me and I lost after about 8 turns.
Game 3
I opened awful (Plague, Allure, Destiny Draw, 3 Solemns) and set PSZ and Allure.
He got Goyo turn 1 and stole my PSZ, synched up for Stardust, set solemn and ended.
I drew a monster!! (Necroface), Summoned it and tuned it to PSZ for Goyo. He Solemns so I reborned his Goyo, stole his stardust and set triple Solemn. I won with like 25 LP and none of my own monsters.

Round 3 - VS Gladiators
Game 1
My deck made a joke of GBs all weekend except for one guy in a later round.
I got an early stardust.
After a few turns he blew all his resources to get rid of it. He played a really cool move though - Summoned Laquari, attacked+econ Stardust and tagged Daruis (Murmillo was dead) brought back his Gyzarus and Bottomlessed his own Darius to resolve Gyzarus' effect, then Chariotted my Stardust, blowing up it along with my f/d Destiny Draw. He finished with Gyz on the field, 0 in hand and about 3000 LP.
I drew, sent Mystic Tomato back to my deck for PSZ and sac for Caius. Game.
Game 2
He opened with Cold Wave and cat into a 2100 Laquari.
I summoned Stratos for Mali and pass.
He summoned another Laquari and Test Tigered it for Secutor, ran over Stratos and hit for 400. He tagged into Heraklinos with Laquari on field, set one and passed with 2 in hand.
I heavy stormed and he let it go, losing his Bottomless trap Hole. I played D Draw and he discarded to negate. I removed Mali for Mali, normal summoned Krebons and synched for Colossal with 3000 attack. I suicided into Herak but he responded with D.D. Crow hitting my Malicious (not sure why he didn't do this in response to D Draw). Colossal Fighter came back in defence mode and I set 2 and passed.
He drew to 1 in hand, attacked with Laquari and tagged for Bestiari. I activated Bottomless Trap Hole and he discarded his last card to negate. I chained Skill Drain and Bestiari went down.
I drew and passed, looking for an out to Heraklinos as Skill Drain was keeping my Colossal Fighter at 2800.
Next turn he drew (I assume) Chariot and set it, I was clearly in trouble...
Til I topped Mirror Force and set it.
Herak attacked into Colossal but I activated Mirror Force and Skill Drain stopped him negating.
From there I just beat him with Colossal for game.

Round 4 - VS Lightsworn
Game 1
I had a REAL problem with LS this weekend. He opened pretty Standard with Lumina, Lumina, Garoth and ended with a huge hand and Wulf. I couldn't recover from his super card advantage and eventually got beat down by Honest.
Game 2
Opened with a really nice hand that he completely shut down with TRA. Meh.

Round 5 - VS Gladiators
Game 1
He was playing an Andal build which was pretty cool, but I got Stardust out by turn 3 and he had no way to stop it before his LP hit 0.
Game 2
He sided in Dimensional Fissure and Oppression, though I didn't really see much of either. He opened with monsters, I did not. The game was over pretty fast.
Game 3
I locked him down with Skill Drain and Phantom Dragon just beat all his monsters in battle. At the end of the game he revealed his back-row of 2 Oppressions, 2 Chariots and Solemn. Yuck.

Round 6 - VS Lightsworn
Game 1
Played a really cool guy in this game, he beat me game 1 after I Crushed him and he topped JD after the 3rd turn. SHAME.
Game 2
I misplayed and lost 3 monsters to my own RDA while trying to get over a Legendary Jujitsu Master and like 50 Necro Gardnas. Went downhill from there. I cannot beat Lightsworn xD

Round 7 - VS Gladiators
Game 1
I gained early advantage with Stratos and he had to waste resources to get over it. Then I pressured him to Solemn my Stardust and Caius came down for game.
Game 2
Drew triple Skill Drain and no monsters. Laquari beat me turn after turn until I draw my first monster - Malicious. I lose.
Game 3
Got 1 Skill Drain this time. I summoned Zombyra and pro Storm to start.
He hit my set storm with his own Storm and summoned Laquari.
From there I set my Drain and ran into Laquari with Zomby but he played Book of Moon.
He ran over Zomby with Laquari and tagged in Bestiari, I chained Skill Drain.
Next turn I played RotA for another Zombyra and summoned it. Then I attacked into a Waboku.
Next turn he set Equeste and fused for Gyzarus. Gyz ran over Zomby for 300 and from there I had no monsters that could get over Gyzarus and I lose.

I finished day 1 on 4-3 in 69th place, which was fairly disappointing, but I wasn't all that fussed about qualifying for the Euros which probably won't happen this year.
Our local players came back to out hotel room for a few duels in the evening but I had a Yu Gi Oh headache so I went to sleep pretty early.

Day 2 rolled round and one of my buddies dropped out of the tournament to trash little kids in the side events cos he's nice like that. I told my friends that I didn't care too much about top 32, since Euros is likely not happening, but that I'd love to top 50.

I drew into his Dustshoot and revealed my hand of Rota, D Draw, Teleport and 3 Solemn Judgment. He scooped. Lol.
Game 2
He set 3 on his back-row and passed.
I played Storm, he Solemned. I played a blind MST and hit his Bottomless. Next I summoned my Monk and discard RotA for Rose. I synched for Stardust forced his last Solemn. I set Bottomless and Skill Drain and passed.
He summoned Bestiari and I played Bottomless. He passes.
I drew Zombyra, summoned him, flipped Skill Drain and he scooped.

Game 1
We had a nice chat about cheaters and rulesharks before the game. Then he won the roll and started.
Charge of the Light Brigade got him Garoth, which he discarded for Solar Recharge, drawing 2 and milling Necro and Wulf :( Next he summoned Lumina, pitched Wulf for Garoth and ended, drawing 0 for Garoth.
My opening was pretty atrocious so I wung it. I allured off my Necroface and lost Solemn Judgment, Malicious, Stratos, and a couple of spell cards from my deck. He lost 1 Necro Gardna, 2 Solar Recharge, a Monster Reincarnation and a Charge of the Light Brigade. That was clearly not worth it. I summoned Breaker and attempted to run over Lumina, got stopped by Necro Gardna and passed. I basically had nothing left at this point and his 3 monsters kill me.
Game 2
I opened nicely, summoned Stratos for Mali, activated D Draw, set Drain and passed.
He expected Light Imprisoning Mirror and sided into Twilight. He played Charge for Lumina, milling Phantom of Chaos, Solar Recharge and Garoth. He summoned Lumina and activated her effect, targeting Garoth. I chained Skill drain and he set 1 and passed. A poor opening and poor mills keep me on the offensive.
I read an in hand Honest and rammed Lumina with Stratos. He played the Honest and I summoned Sangan, set Mirror Force and pass (misplay on my part, I should have attacked with the Sangan). He flipped Royal Decree in my end-phase.
He drew, brought out Garoth with Lumina's effect and ran over Sangan. I searched Mystic Tomato and he attacked me directly with Lumina. He milled pretty badly again in his end-phase.
I summoned Breaker and killed his Royal Decree. Not risking a 1900 attack in case of Honest. I passed.
He swarmed with Lumina, Lumina, Garoth and Wulf and ran into Mirror Force.
I pressed the advantage attacking with Breaker and Tomato for 3 turns and he got no monsters.
Game 3
By far the best game I played all tournament. He opened pretty good, bringing out double Lumina, Garoth and got a nice hand and a Wulf on field.
I summoned Breaker and ran into Necro Gardna. I set Skill Drain and passed.
He feared Mirror Force I think, as he did not attack.
I set Sangan and Crush and passed.
He discarded Necro gardna for Lumina's effect, I chained Skill Drain. He discarded Ryko for Solar Recharge and hit a soso mill of Necro Gardna and Honest. He attacked into Crush and lost most of his field and his in-hand Judgment Dragon and Celestia. I searched Mali for Sangan's effect and ate 1000 from Lumina.
I played Destiny Draw and drew into PSZ. I removed Mali, normal summoned PSZ and synched for Colossal Fighter, attacking over Lumina for 1800. Set Solemn and passed.
He drew Charge of the Light Brigade and searched Garoth. Solar Recharging away his in-hand Aurkus drew him into Reincarnation and Storm. He played Heavy Storm and I was forced to Solemn. Dropping me to 3000.
I drew, attacked, set Bottomless and passed.
He topped Honest and summoned Garoth. I stupidly played the Bottomless and he reincarnated JD, Honesting over Colossal for exactly game. My bad :(

I won the roll and opened horribly. I summoned Krebons and passed.
She summoned Lumina and passed, milling Necro Gardna, Garoth and Wulf. Yuck.
I summoned Breaker and run into Honest.
She Discarded Wulf for Garoth, and I payed 1600 to negate 2 attacks.
I drew, still nothing. I set Heavy Storm and passed.
She played her own Storm, pitched Gardna for Wulf and activated Brain control. I scooped.
Game 2
I summoned Grepher, pitched PSZ for Mali and set Skill Drain.
She opened with Recharge, pitching Wulf, milling another Wulf. Lame. She summoned Lumina and discarded Monster Reincarnation. I chained Skill Drain and she joked that she was scared to run over Grepher in case I had Dark Armed in hand. She ran over Grepher with Wulf and attacked directly with Lumina.
I drew Dark Armed. How embarrassing. I summoned it, synched up Colossal Fighter with PSZ and Mali, and normal summoned Zombyra. Zomby ran over Lumina, Colossal ran over Wulf and Dark Armed hit for 2800. I set Solemn and passed.
She drew and summoned Lumina.
I topped Brain Control for game.
Game 3
This game was hilariously funny. She opened with 1 set to each zone and I had a great hand but I was terrified of Crush.
My turn rolled around. and I activated Allure of Darkness. I drew 2 and removed Mystic Tomato. I normal summoned Grepher and pitched PSZ for Mali. Then I activated Destiny Draw, discarding Defender to draw 2. I special summoned Dark Armed Dragon, removing Defender with priority destroy the back-row card. It was Beckoning Light. Next I removed Mali for another, played Emergency Teleport and synched up Stardust. I blew up the f/d monster by removing Krebons and top-decked my Skill Drain for PSZ. I tuned Grepher to Spreader for Goyo and she scooped. "No Gorz?" I ask, jokingly. "Oh yeah!" ...She summoned Gorz...
I stole Gorz with Goyo and ran over the token with Dark Armed Dragon, setting Torrential Tribute to finish with 0 in hand. She drew and activated Lightning Vortex. I negated with Stardust and she set a monster and passed.
I drew my Skill Drain, removed my second Mali for Dark Armed and she offered me the handshake.
FINALLY BEAT A LIGHTSWORN!

Game 1
He dropped a card on the table as he shuffled. It was Equeste. I couldn't have been happier. I won the roll and opened with Stratos for Mali, set Wrath and passed.
He summoned Rescue Cat and activated its effect with Priority. I chained Wrath, discarding Plaguespreader Zombie. he set 2 to his back row and passed.
I drew and activated Heavy Storm and he chained Solemn Judgment. I attacked with Stratos, dropping him to 3200. I set Solemn and passed.
He summoned Darius and Test-Tigered in Murmillo to destroy Stratos. He attacked me for 800 and tagged in Retiari, targetting my PSZ.
I activated Brain Control, summoned Mystic Tomato. I had 2600 on the field to his 3200 LP. I activated Destiny Draw and removed Mali for Mali in attack position. I attacked with Retiari and he flipped Mirror Force. I chained Solemn for game.
Game 2
He set one S/T and summoned Laquari.
I activated MST hitting Royal Oppression. I summoned Summoner Monk and discarded Brain Control for Rose. I synched up Stardust and set 2 cards, ending my turn.
He drew and activated Cold Wave. I let it go. He chained Book of Moon and I chained Skill Drain. He chained MST and I released my Stardust Dragon to negate. He realised his misplay and scooped.

All in all a pretty fun tournament, I really enjoyed myself except the 2 day headache. Like I said, all I cared about was coming in the top 50. Amusingly, I came 50th. I was happy with that considering it was my first Nats and I took a reasonably ill conceived deck.

Then I activated Destiny Draw, discarding Defender to draw 2. I special summoned Dark Armed Dragon, removing Defender with priority destroy the back-row card. It was Beckoning Light. Next I removed Mali for another, played Emergency Teleport and synched up Stardust. I blew up the f/d monster by removing Krebons and top-decked my Skill Drain for PSZ. I tuned Grepher to Spreader for Goyo and she scooped. "No Gorz?" I ask, jokingly. "Oh yeah!" ...She summoned Gorz...
I stole Gorz with Goyo and ran over the token with Dark Armed Dragon, setting Torrential Tribute to finish with 0 in hand. She drew and activated Lightning Vortex. I negated with Stardust and she set a monster and passed.
I drew my Skill Drain, removed my second Mali for Dark Armed and she offered me the handshake.

Round 11 - VS Gladiators
Game 1
He dropped a card on the table as he shuffled. It was Equeste. I couldn't have been happier. I won the roll and opened with Stratos for Mali, set Wrath and passed.
He summoned Rescue Cat and activated its effect with Priority. I chained Wrath, discarding Plaguespreader Zombie. he set 2 to his back row and passed.
I drew and activated Heavy Storm and he chained Solemn Judgment. I attacked with Stratos, dropping him to 3200. I set Solemn and passed.
He summoned Darius and Test-Tigered in Murmillo to destroy Stratos. He attacked me for 800 and tagged in Retiari, targetting my PSZ.
I activated Brain Control, summoned Mystic Tomato. I had 2600 on the field to his 3200 LP. I activated Destiny Draw and removed Mali for Mali in attack position. I attacked with Retiari and he flipped Mirror Force. I chained Solemn for game.
Game 2
He set one S/T and summoned Laquari.
I activated MST hitting Royal Oppression. I summoned Summoner Monk and discarded Brain Control for Rose. I synched up Stardust and set 2 cards, ending my turn.
He drew and activated Cold Wave. I let it go. He chained Book of Moon and I chained Skill Drain. He chained MST and I released my Stardust Dragon to negate. He realised his misplay and scooped.

All in all a pretty fun tournament, I really enjoyed myself except the 2 day headache. Like I said, all I cared about was coming in the top 50. Amusingly, I came 50th. I was happy with that considering it was my first Nats and I took a reasonably ill conceived deck.
