Gamers Realm Local Tournament Update with New Twists

Since there is still no regionals or SJCs for the time being, Gamers Realm has decided to spark things up a little bit. Starting 4/5/09 (today), there are two new twists to our local tournaments. They are as follows:

1) Bounty

At all of our local tournaments, there will be a bounty (a player with a target on their head). If you are the player that delivers the loss to the bounty that would either prevent him/her making the T4/T8 cut, you will receive the bounty jackpot. You can also receive the jackpot by knocking the bounty out in the T8, during the T8 match. If the bounty makes the T4, then the bounty prize pool will be carried over to the next week, with a bigger prize, or more prizes added in. Keep checking in to this website for the current bounty. As of right now, there is only a bounty on sunday. Starting Tuesday and Thursday, there will be a bounty (There will be three separate bounties and each individual tournament day/night).

2) Team Competition

Also starting today will be the Yu-Gi-Oh! Gamers Realm League. There are six teams in this league. These teams will compete for the next month at gamers realm in any local tournament to be the best team for the month. Members of the winning team will be honored in the store as the team of the month. In addition, members of that team will receive 10% off all yugioh merchandise in the store for the month.

The point system for this works as follows:

The team will receive points for any tournament day in which any members of a team participate in any local tournament at gamers realm. A team receives points based on that team's average winning percentage for that tournament from each individual member x 10 (I am getting the feeling that people will be lost on this). Here is an example:

Team 1:

Player 1 goes undefeated for the entire tournament, his winning precentage would be 1.00 (100%).

Player 2 goes 2-2, giving him a winning precentage of 0.50 (50%)

The average winning percentage would be 0.75, then times that by 10

Team 1's point total for the tournament: 7.5

1.00+0.50=1.5
1.5 / 2 = 0.75
0.75 x 10 = 7.5

I hope this clears things up :)

Okay seriously, you've all had your fun and I'm done with these games. My problem isn't how I am seen playing the game. It's the lack of respect and becoming a target. I'm not asking to be seen as a good player because frankly I don't care. It's a game, and that's all it can ever be. The one and only thing that I want is respect. Seen as a regular person, no jokes, no little quips. Cause seriously, there's a fine line between joke and someone doing something that everyone regrets. I'm not saying it's me, but there are things being thrown around and it's escalating to a point where it's been taken too far. Whatevers happened has happened, I cannot change the past. All I ask is for everyone to treat each other like an equal w/ respect. That's not too much to ask for.

ok thank you for correcting that to the mercer region Joe. Cause central jersey is more than Gamers realms and I know alot better players than the ones there. Very few at that store I consider good. You Dustin ,Rob B and Mike S are some of the few. But as history has shown anytime any of us came to New Concept we walked away with the prizes lol.

I will never call myself a great player. I will call myself a Decent player with Decent ability to play the game.

Cerberus really is not much of a team anymore. Because right now I dont play much yugioh till prize support comes back. Most of my time has been put into pokemon. Going to a regional the 18th for it. Free tournaments with good prizes. Cant beat it.

and to answer your question, i actually pulled and played 5 miracle locus. if at any time you, dustin, raheen, jeff, or any other one of you felt that to be cheating, you could have asked the judge or the store owner to check my deck. you could have asked them to check my son's deck, he also had 3, my teamates deck, he had 2-3, and check my son's deck from yesterday, as there were 2 in there. i guess pulling those cards were the only good thing as out of 15 packs, my 1 son pulled a secret battlestorm, my other son pulled the super rare 3000 koaki monster, and i pulled a rare blizzard and a super delta crow.

actually, when compared to you, there are far more than 5 good players at timezone. it isnt like at gamers or ncII where you guys, in collusion with the judges down there, try and stack the tournament against anyone who does not go to those stores regularly. i have never, ever seen a tournament where in round 4, there are 4 undefeateds, and every single one of them got paired down to an x-2 instead of playing each other that i have seen at ncII.

1. The Bounty idea sounds cool. But meh!

2. Don't like Team Dueling. Yugioh is more of a Single tournament like Tennis, team optional.

The point system should reward people with the highest point each week.

Suggestion:
1. Win 2 tournaments in a row in 2 weeks get extra prize or free entry next week.
2. One trash talker put up a card for anyone who can beat him.
3. Beat the store owner to win an extra pack. Store owner start with 10,000lp. LOL. No side deck allowed. No burn allowed.

At all of our local tournaments, there will be a bounty (a player with a target on their head). If you are the player that delivers the loss to the bounty that would either prevent him/her making the T4/T8 cut, you will receive the bounty jackpot. You can also receive the jackpot by knocking the bounty out in the T8, during the T8 match. If the bounty makes the T4, then the bounty prize pool will be carried over to the next week, with a bigger prize, or more prizes added in. Keep checking in to this website for the current bounty. As of right now, there is only a bounty on sunday. Starting Tuesday and Thursday, there will be a bounty (There will be three separate bounties and each individual tournament day/night).

2) Team Competition

Also starting today will be the Yu-Gi-Oh! Gamers Realm League. There are six teams in this league. These teams will compete for the next month at gamers realm in any local tournament to be the best team for the month. Members of the winning team will be honored in the store as the team of the month. In addition, members of that team will receive 10% off all yugioh merchandise in the store for the month.
