How long will the wireless cable stretch?

I read in my trainers manuel I got for preordering FireRed and it says something like "The WORLDWIDE pokemon community (somethingsomethingsomething) needs the CHAT ROOM to communicate about moves or something like that. I was just wondering if the cable really stretches far enough to make a full countrywide chat room.

Well in Tokyo,that is a great idea.....in the US....maybe at an airport at best....otherwise it is just a wireless linkcable and I imagine it could be used as such.It's reach is so limited that you will be in the same room anyways.I wish it were more practical like the cellphone attachment in Japan =/.But hey,we can hope that they let us some how hook it up to our cell phone,phone jack or computer to increase range/connect over the internet.

No, it's up to 50 feet away. And only 40 can be in a room at once.

NDS's wireless LAN will go up to 30 meters, 100 feet. I assume it's a similar technology.

well yeah bottom line, the "reach" is like 50 feet.
IGN said it was 50-100 feet and they ACTUALLY have the game in their hands...so ill take their word for it.

up to 40 people can be in the room, so a chat of 40 people is cool, but its really best for battling and trading.

I got an email from nintendo saying on September 25 (saturday) between 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM there will be an event at "your local toys r us"
where anyone who wants to can show up and link up to battle or trade. thats similar to the events they hold in japan, they call them "joyspots" were kids just go to a store a designated time/date/ and battle. so you should probably check with the toys r us by you to see if theyre gonna be doing it there.

hopefully more events like this will be designated so everyone can actually see 40 people in that wireless room on their screens. must be cool. :rolleyes:
