A friend and I were wondering if you can use ultimate offering to activate the effect of a gemini monster multiple times. I argued no because once the monster gets its second summon it is considered to have an effect to be able to use. The card(s) in question about this are gigaplant and Il Blud. And the reason it came is because the yugi 2008 World Tournament game allows him to use ultimate offering to activate the efect of il blud multiple times.

I would argue you couldn't because it's already summoned with an effect that limits it to once per turn. So, can someone please clarify this for us?

Yeah, its once per turn. You cant keep summoning the monster either.

Never trust video games as an accurate source for rulings, as without the human interaction... They are simply machines.

When Il Blud for example says that you can activate his "effect" once per turn, it is talking about the special summon ability, not the "Gemini Summon".

When a Gemini Monster is first placed on the field, it is considered to be a normal monster with the ability to officially become an "Effect Monster". Performing the actual "Gemini Summon" can be done through Ultimate Offering or any other unused normal summon. However, you cannot keep doing it over and over again, because once it becomes an "Effect Monster", it no longer needs to become one again.

I hope this makes sense to you. If not, I'm sure one of the several other minds of Pojo will explain it better.

I dont know why gadgets are not used if UO is at 2.

There's nothing legally preventing a player from going wild with it, so I suppose it would come down to personal choice.

I mean, I think that Ultimate Insects can work toward a great theme, but others have tended to disagree with me. Just preference, I guess.
