There needs to be some good discussion in this forum instead of a bunch of "what is your favorite thing besides these things" threads.
Anyway, I was watching Yugioh Abridged and was thinking about Pegasus. It seems like he really doesn't fit in with other Millennium Item holders, but I guess his purpose was to be a test for the pharaoh. This got me thinking even deeper about the tests of the pharaoh and the vessel. There was the Shadi incident, Bakura's monster world, Pegasus, Otogi, Marik, Bakura again, and the final duel (correct me if I missed any).
Anyway, it seemed to me like Takahashi created Pegasus before thinking up what happens with all the Millennium Items, but the Shadi arc already tells you what they're about. So, I kept thinking about it and I guess he does fit in. Pegasus is close to Kaiba, which leads him to Yugi. Through Pegasus, Yugi learns how to communicate with the pharaoh, which supports the idea that Pegasus's whole purpose was to test the pharaoh and vessel and reinforces the fact that Yugi and Kaiba were destined to be rivals from the beginning.
If that makes any sense, I'd love to start a discussion about these things. It might not make much sense because it's 3am and I didn't know how to structure most of that. Thanks for reading.
Tl;dr version
Does Pegasus make sense as a Millennium Enemy? My final answer is yes.
