Mass Hypnosis and Cold Wave

If I activate cold wave at the start of my Main Phase 1 and chain Mass Hypnosis stealing my opponents monsters will Mass Hypnosis be destroyed during the end phase or not?

The way I was ruling it was like the Spirit's and Skill Drain. The Spirits only return the turn they're summoned and Mass Hypnosis is only destroyed during the turn it is actiavted.

Cold Wave" will prevent you from activating the effect of Spell/Trap Cards which are already face-up, such as "Ultimate Offering" or "Card of Safe Return".

so you do not get to steal your opponent's monsters nor does it get destroyed.

The difference between Hypnosis and those is that those have various times when you can activate those. CoSR needs a revival to be made and Offering you need to pay to summon and those both happen after the card is played while Hypnosis only gets one chance to activate.

If I chain Mass Hypnosis to the activation of Cold Wave, Hypnosis activates taking control of my opponent's monsters and then no spell or traps can be set or activated. But it doesnt stop cards that are already in effect.

edit: my point was that Hypnosis will work but im still wondering if it will go to the graveyard or not.

i see wat you mean there, cold wave does not stop cards from being destroyed, it does not work like CoSR or Offering due to the fact that they remain face up on the field, even though its a continuous trap, you activated the card, therefore it has to be destroyed by its own effect even when cold wave was activated.

I wanna see what some other people think because i'm working on an Alien deck and this would be a sick combo.

yeah ness or scythe should be on l8ter. aliens decks with that combo, wouldn't only work against decks like gbs and such because they use this card? or are you going to chain against your own cold wave?

against my own cold wave. the deck is able to pull out big monsters like Overlord and Ananta with ease so one big steal while my opponent cant play anything to stop it(the attack) is broken.

If you chain Mass Hypnosis to Cold Wave, you will take control of the monsters, and Mass Hypnosis will still be destroyed during the End Phase.
