Yu-Gi-Oh! Forced Betrayals Chapter 1: Evil Spirit's Release
Yugi Mouto was returning home from school. A High Schooler though he was, he was pretty short for his age. He was a very spiked up blond who had a passion for gaming. He wore his blue school uniform and around his neck he wore the golden pyramid shaped object known as the Millennium Puzzle.
This was one of seven magical objects known as the Millennium Items, mystic items of power that withheld the darkness of an evil place of shadows and death known as the Shadow Realm. These objects included the Millennium Scales, which could pass judgment on the evil hearted, the Millennium Key, which could see into your mind, the Millennium Eye, which could read your Mind, the Millennium Necklace, which could see into the past, present, and future, the Millennium Rod, which could control people’s minds, and the Millennium Ring, which held the spirit of a dark being known to some as the Evil Spirit of the Millennium Ring, and in Ancient Times: Set. The Millennium Puzzle was the most powerful because it held the spirit of the Egyptian Pharaoh Yami, and the Power of the Pharaoh.
He was on his way back to his Grandfather’s Game Shop from Domino High School when, in his mind, Yami appeared to him. “Yugi, I sense I dark energy nearby. I sense it coming from over there.” He indicated towards a dark alley, which appeared to have living shadows coming from it, from the Shadow Realm! The Shadow Realm is a place of eternal darkness, where anything can happen, especially evil things. What they didn’t know at the time though, was that this hole in the Shadow Realm that would soon cause greater evil.
With a shout of “YU-GI-OH!” the Millennium Puzzle began to glow and Yami took control of Yugi’s body. While in this state, Yami Yugi, Yugi is about 5 or 6 feet, and is a master Duelist, because Yami is now in control, and can use Shadow Magic, the Magic of the Millennium Items from the Shadow Realm. Yami Yugi dashed down the alleyway. Every step that he took, the stronger the evil that he was feeling grew. He kept going until he eventually found the source, a hole that opened up into the Shadow Realm. Standing in front of the portal was a spirit. The spirit of an ancient cult sorcerer named Black Shadow. He was originally a servant of the evil Dark Nite, but when he was defeated and trapped in the Shadow Realm, Black Shadow was one of those that tried to revive him. Black Shadow’s soul had hidden in the Millennium Dial, one of the four Sacred Millennium Items, for 5000 years. But at the second Battle City Tournament, Kateensha had banished Black Shadow into the Shadow Realm.
“What are you doing here?” Yami demanded. “I was sent here by my Master to unleash him, now that he has enough strength to allow me to release him. Hehehe.” “We’ll see about that. So let’s play a Shadow Game.” He held up his Duel Monsters deck. “We’ll each draw a card. The monster with the highest attack points wins.”
“I guess I’ll go for it,” Black Shadow drew, then Yugi. “Yes,” declared Black Shadow after seeing his card, “I have drew, your Dark Magician!” Then a man in purple robes and carrying a large green staff appeared. “But my card is, Black Luster Soldier!” A man with black armor with a long red hair-like thing coming from his helmet and carrying a large sword and shield appeared. “Now go Soldier! Attack him now!” Then, instead of charging at Dark Magician, he attacked Black Shadow and slashed him.
“AAAAUUURRGGGGHH!!!!” Black Shadow’s spirit was annihilated, and with that the portal closed, but just as it was, something shot out of it. Yugi just barely saw it, and assumed that it was nothing. Black Luster Soldier and Dark Magician disappeared, and Yugi picked up his Dark Magician card from where it fell after Black Shadow was destroyed and added it to his deck, along with his Black Luster Soldier, and walked off after changing back to normal Yugi.

The Evil Spirit of the Millennium Ring floated down. He was in an empty room in someone’s house. “At last, I’m finally free!” He told himself. “Now after I rest up a bit, I’ll try and find a body for me to posses, and allow the Millennium Ring to reappear with me. Hehehe, now I just need to figure out where I…” Then the door to the room opened up and a teenage girl, in her pink girl’s school uniform of Domino High walked in. She had blue eyes with brown hair and about average height.
“Man, am I tired. I knew that I shouldn’t have taken that short cut Joey suggested, or else I wouldn’t have gotten chased by all those dogs.” She said this to no one in particular as she flopped down back first onto her bed. Set, being a spirit and thus unable to be seen or heard, started to yell in vain, “No! Wait! Wait just a moment. No, no, NNNNOOOO!!”
Being too late, Set was put into a forced possession, and yellow energy flashed in the room and both the girl and Set let out a yell. The girl then collapsed, as the Millennium Ring began to materialize around her neck.
