Because R is only five volumes long, it wouldn't be unrealistic to expect a fairly high-quality job, unlike the whole Viz Box O' Doom situation with Duelist's English release. R may not be as good as the original manga, but it by far deserved an English release and it's great to know it's finally getting one. I still find it impressive that the wheelchair Duel Disk managed to be far more believable than the vast majority of Duel Disks in GX.

Not sure anyone really knows what the hold up was for R, but at least they're finally putting it out in English, even if it will still take until October.

Hopefully after this long wait it will come with some promos, but I don't know what they would use, they've already gone and released just about every card from R in the TCG some other way, probably all of them by time the first volume comes out.

I wonder if they will still include promo cards considering most of them but 1 are released?

Awesome news. I would've liked to see R in Jump, but it would probably take us even longer to finish it that way, so I really can't complain.

Doubt it, sorry. Pretty much anything related to the manga is released by Shueisha, and R being printed in English won't affect the chances of Shueisha making certain cards, at all.

i say they are stalling so that japan can release the other ancient egyptian obelisk/ra/slifer cards, and put it in here.

what if they decide to put every 5 D dragon with different artwork. nah wouldn't sell.

but, obelisk, dark magician, dark magician girl would be cool.

I can see them using this as a way to get out Obelisk and the Dark Magician (not DMG, Takahashi said no to edits on the special art cards and it would have to be edited for the TCG release).

Really they're either going to not have any promos (most likely) or they'll just use Alector and 4 other random Jump promos.
