Too old for Pokemon??

Hi Guys,
I enjoy Pokemon, well, anything with a strategy, but I'd be more interested in the trading/battling real life aspect of it. As a college student, I was wondering if it would have other, older players out there [so i'm not the guy looking like a predator or something, I'd be uncomfortable if i was] My question, how old are you guys/girls? I'm 19.

Well, you can always hide somewhere to play (the closet comes to mind) if you don't want anyone to find out, since the video games aren't the most multi-player of games. But I'm going to college this fall, so you I guess can figure it out. Of course, I don't think you can ever be too old for it.

I'm 18 and still enjoy playing Pokemon (heck, all my friends know and they don't mind). When Ru/Sa came out, I thought this series sucked, but thanks to these ppl on Pojo, I've enjoyed Ru/Sa alot more now.

I don't see a lot of sense in hiding when you play the game. You certainly don't have to parade around telling everyone that you're into Pokémon, but it's okay to be different from others. Even when looked upon as childish or stupid, if someone is really going to hold it against you it's probably best to leave them alone.

I'm 16, I play pokemon in school sometimes. People have asked me if I really play pokemon, but I just say yes and they walk away. I don't care, people would like pokemon if they wern't so concerned with their self image. It's a fun game.

Well, I'm 18.
I'm about to transfer from the University of Maryland to MIT, and I still play pokemon. Hell, now I'll be closer to the New York pokemon center.
I've never encountered anyone that had a problem with me playing, but I guess I'm a rare case.

I have that EXACT shirt. People read it and laugh. :). Anywho, I am 21 and enjoy playing Pokemon on the GBA. I can't pass up a good RPG. :). (I have like 90+ hours on Sapphire and 35+ on Ruby).

I enjoy a good RPG. I don't like anime. IMO, CCGs cost too much.

Most people judge Pokemon as being some sort of Japanese fighting war fest or something. But it is much deeper than most people think. If they'd just give it a shot or even watch one episode of the show, I'll guarantee they'd be hooked for years, no matter what age they are.

If the first I saw of Pokemon was the anime show, I'd have never let Pokemon come into my life. Ugh. I just like RPGs in general, and I really liked Pokemon because the damage calculator used a stat multiplier. Plus it was easy to find other people to play. "Hey! Who here plays Dragon Warrior Monsters?"

I started playing Pokemon about 1 1/2 ago, after collecting the cards and figures for 3 years before that. Started with R/S, and have gone back to play all games except Yellow. Even got a GameCube for Colloseum. I'm 50 now. Have been having nightmares that FRLG won't be any good, which will kill any chance for future GB games.

If I had watched the show before actually playing the games, I would've never liked Pokémon. The Pokémon show is pure garbage compared to something like Cowboy Bebop or One Piece, lol.

Pokemon and Golden Sun are my faves for the gameboy advance. :D

Seriously Dude, I just started my first year in college and I love this freaking game to death. I've basically been pokemonning nonstop since 8th grade, and now that I live in manhattan I reap the benefits of the Pokecenter. There are lots of older players there, and frankly they are the fun ones to play (the little kids just smack me up with Latios'... little oober buggers)

hmmm im 16, ive been playing since mid gr 6 (when the pokemon on the school bus commercial was out) and now im in gr 12. im an open player, like ill play it in class or in public. ive never really encountered any confrontations and ive actually converted some friends in gr 10/11. i preorder like everygame that comes out - cept for the gamey ones (like pinball) which i buy like months later. i got frlg from an overpriced preorder... and im not ashamed. i have like one friend who shuns me cuz of it (which is no longer a friend) and my mother hates me spending money - but if it gets me my jollies, its worth it. yea, im an open pokemon lover and i think there shouldnt really be an issue with it for other ppl. my obsession.
