Uhh, I guess this is pretty cool for all of the Affinity players out there. Kinda weird choice for a FNM promo but I guess it looks cooler than the beer belly version they gave us originally.

Better card scan will be edited in once I can get it or someone links me to it.

Its a pretty good promo.

I like how they are continuing to push Extended decks.

Although, I do think that Foil Affinity is a little overrated.

I guess all the talk of making all of the future FNM promos using Standard legal cards really was just talk. Unless they'll switch to Standard once the Extended PTQ season ends.

I doubt they will. I like the older FNM promos anyway. I wish they printed some more powerful cards.

This reminds me of an old version of Stax from a LONG time ago that plays a couople Myr Enforcer ;)

Yeah, I honestly don't see the point in printing Standard legal cards as FNM promos (unless it's something really cool). It's just alternative art on a card that everyone probably has 4 of anyway at the end of the day. At least with reprinting Extended cards it gives the newer players a taste of older cards and brings back some good memories for the older players.

Except in the case of the people who don't own, or can't afford, said cards.

I don't know how much I like Myr Enforcer being reprinted here. I like the card and the art is pretty awesome, but I'm not really sure how I feel about it otherwise.

This case doesn't happen very often since they reprint commons and uncommons as FNM cards. I don't think they do, or have done rares.

Sweet art. Nice card, too. Thumbs up from me.

I also don't quite buy the can't-afford argument, and how this is supposed to encourage players to crack Extended; if they're going to be playing affinity, Enforcer would be the least of their worries. I prefer the FNM card to be a pimped-up Standard card that new players can slot into a deck they already have.

Besides, I play hardly any Extended, so there's the selfish reasons too.

I agree with Dunjohn, I would much rather like to see a standard promo than extended. Alt art is always awesome when it is either better or equal to the original! I would like to see new art of cards that are being played now instead of waiting who knows how long for a reprint later.

However, I don't mind this myr enforcer xD I really like the new art! Plus it reminds me of when I played during mirrodin (I restarted again during that set and stopped like after BoK ^_^; )

I'd love to go to fnm for this one.

You got me there.
Personally, I'd like a set of these. The art is too cool to ignore.

Yeah I'm kinda interested in getting a playset of these too. Looks like a trip to good ol' feeBay is in order when the time comes.

I just kinda noticed something about that art: is it just me or are those non-artifact creatures on the [high-quality] art Leonin?

Is that a possible hint at a reprint of some Mirrodin-block Leonin soon? Or perhaps a [once again] Standard-legal Myr Enforcer?

I'm doubting it since this art was commissioned way back when Mirrodin-block just came out and was never used for one reason or another. That's what everyone is saying anyway.

That's kinda disappointing. I was really hoping to see some new Leonin. Then again, their color (White) is a Naya color, so maybe there's hope.

Jim Murray's website does indeed list the copyright as 2005 and it's grouped with all of his other Mirrodin art on his website.

I'd never visited his site before, so I'd never seen high-res scans of most of his stuff before. Hmm. Now Nim Abomination makes sense. Extremely funky sense.

Aww, well the month after is supposed to be finks according to MTS spoilers.

This card isn't bad, its just that its foil madness all over again, catering to a minority tends to alienate players so quite a few people are unimpressed by this card.

Still, I'd get 4.

I'm kinda odd in feeling I'd prefer Legecy and Vintage legal (note I said legal, not playable) cards as FNM promos..
