Chapter Five: Play With Fire, You’ll Get Burns
Kaiba stepped onto the dueling platform, shuffled his deck, and inserted it into the deck slot. Burns stepped into the opposite platform and did likewise. Then as the platforms rose to about 15’ as their duel discs went into dueling mode. “Let the duel begin!” The announcer yelled with great enthusiasm.
“I’ll start this, by playing two cards face-down and I end my turn!” Kaiba announced. Burns looked down at his hand of Call of the Haunted, Lava Golem, Mirror Force, and two Solar Flare Dragons. He added the card that he just drew, Magic Cylinders, to his hand. Then he took four cards from his hand and set them all down on the field, saying, “I place three cards face-down, and then playing this monster in defense mode, your turn!”
Kaiba grinned wickedly as he said, “You fool, I’ll begin my move by activating this trap card, go Final Attack Orders! This Continuous Trap Card forces all face-up monsters on the field to attack mode, and they cannot change position. Then I’ll play Swords of Revealing Light, not only sealing all of your monsters for three turns, but all monsters that were face-down when this was activated, are flipped up!”
Three large glowing swords made out of light appeared on the field, and Burns’ monster, Solar Flare Dragon, was forced into face-up defense position and because of Final Attack Orders, the dragon made out of fire was forced into attack position.
“Next,” Kaiba continued, “I’ll play Cyber Stein, in attack mode!” Cyber Stein was a small green monster Frankenstein’s monster-like monster with a large piece of machine equipment for a hand. It had 700 attack points. “Next, I’ll play Harpie’s Feather Duster, destroying all of your face-down cards, followed by me invoking the powers of Cyber Stein, by sacrificing 5000 Life Points, I may summon to the field, any Fusion Monster in my Fusion Deck, and I will summon,” Seto pulled a card from his pocket, which held his Fusion Deck, and slammed it onto the center monster slot on his disk, “To summon my ultimate beast!”
Cyber Stein raised his mechanical arm, which began to spark out lightning, as monster DNA stored in his arm was mixed, and a ball of purple energy appeared in between the Devil Franken’s three mechanical fingers, which shot up into the air, and a pillar of white light fell from where the beam hit, and hit the ground, and a great explosion occurred.
“Come forth, BLUE EYES ULTIMATE DRAGON!” standing in front of Kaiba, right next to Cyber Stein, towering over Solar Flare Dragon, was a monster the height of Blue Eyes White Dragon, plus a quarter of that height. In fact, it was the legendary Blue Eyes, only it was dark blue, and had three heads.
“Next,” Kaiba yelled confidently, “I play Megamorph, and equip it to my Blue Eyes. The attack power of the monster equipped with this card has it’s attack and defense cut in half if my Life Points are higher, or equal to my opponent’s, but the attack points are doubled if my Life Points are lower, and since I only have 3000 left, and you still have 8000, my Ultimate Dragon in 9000 attack points!”
“Next I’ll activate my remaining face-down card, Riroyku, which, for one turn, allows me to cut the attack and defense points of one face-up face monster on the field in half, and add those to any other face-up monster on the field. And I choose to remove half of your Solar Flare Dragon’s attack points, and add them to my Ultimate Dragon!”
Kaiba: 3000 Burns: 8000
Blue Eyes Ultimate: 9750, Cyber Stein: 700, Solar Flare Dragon: 750
Kaiba snapped his pointing index finger at the Solar Flare Dragon, and shouted “Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon, attack with Neutron Blast!” A huge ball of energy appeared in each of the three dragon head’s mouths, which combined into one huge one, and fired it at the Solar Flare Dragon, destroying it utterly.
Kaiba: 3000 Burns: 0000
The dueling platforms lowered and Kaiba walked off. Burns pulled himself up and dragged himself to his seat in the stands. The crowd burst into applause and cheers as the announcer stood up and yelled into his mike, “Wow! What an amazing duel. That is THE shortest duel that I have ever seen. Well, now it is time for the next duel, the Champion Insect Duelist, Weevil Underwood, VS Miss Mai Valentine’s representative: Miss Setna Huroshi!”
