Many people think Harry is stupid for waiting for Krum and Cedric to collect Hermione and Cho, respectively. Or at least, Rowling causes Harry to think he was stupid for this, since he should've realized Dumbledore would not have let anybody die.

But...Harry saves Hermione's life by showing Krum that he should use a stone to cut the ropes that bind Hermione, not his shark teeth, which are "too big to bite anything smaller than a dolphin." So Harry wasn't stupid after all!

His point is that if he just took Cho and went straight up, then Krum would've raced straight after and bit Hermione in half trying to free her.

So it was really an indirect thing but it still saved her life

Harry's captive was Ron, not Cho.

So wizards can repair every bone in somebody's body, but they cannot cure shark wounds? I'm pretty damn sure that she wouldn't have died.

Yes, in "Babbity Rabbity in the Cackling Stump" it says that cutting a witch in two won't kill her...and although Babbity Rabbity isn't cut in two, Dumbledore's commetary says this must be true...

But I was thinking of the loss of blood...and the time it would take Krum to carry Hermione to the surface. It seems incredible to me that her soul would remain in her body that long.

I'm not sure about this but i think Herimone kissed Harry for some reason after the black lake challenge.

Fluer kissed Harry and Ron for (apparently) saving her little sister. Hermione just ignored Krum.
