The Shadow Appears: Shadow vs Kaiba Part 1
Seto Kaiba was sitting in his office, trying to figure out how to raise KaibaCorp's stocks. He was becoming bored with his work and he turned to stare out at the stormy night. He saw his Duel Disk siting in the corner, he wanted a duel. Kaiba turned back to his wrk, then he heard a crash. Before he looked up to see where the sound came from, a blast of light shot towards him. The office windows shattered and flew out to the concrete below. Rain began pouring into the office, Kaiba stood up, drenched from the water. He turned to see a dark figure looming over him, "Who are you?" The figure replied, " A nightmare!", then the room turned back to darkness.
Mokuba was running up the stairs, talking into his headpiece, "What's going on, where are the guards?" Mokuba reached the floor with his brother's office, opened the door and saw several of his guards on the floor. Roland came up from behind him and went to check on the guards, "They're dead sir." Before Mokuba could reply a burst of light came toward him, Roland pulled both of them out of the blast, but he was still unconscience. Mokuba got up to look in his brother's office. He saw the ravaged remains of the room, but no one was there and the Duel Disk in the corner was gone.
Seto Kaiba awoke in a warehouse, chained by his legs to a dueling arena. "Where am I?" Kaiba asked the figure who rose on the other side of the arena. "You are near the Domino Pier and you are being challenged to a duel, do you accept?" Kaiba looked back, "I won't be intimidated into this, I'd destroy you anyway." The figure replied, "To bad." The chain pulled and Kaiba nearly hit the arena face first, but he flipped out of the way. While on the floor, he pulled out of his chains and stood up to see the figure standing on the opposite end of the arena and his Duel Disk in front of him. "Now I'll duel you!" Kaiba accepted and stood in position, slipping the disk on his arm. "First, tell me your name!" Kaiba demanded. The figured spoke in his scarred voice, "I am the Shadow and our duel begins now!"
Kaiba looked down at his Duel Disk, the life point gauge was at 8000. The Shadow replied, "Yes Kaiba, that's correct, we each double the life points your used to".Kaiba drew his first cards, then announced his move, "I summon the Spear Dragon in attack mode (1900) and I set one card facedown." The Shadow was quick with his draw and summoned the monster almost automatically, "I sacrifice two thousand of my life points to bring out the Death Reaper in attack mode (2000) and I activate this card, The Bringing of the Damned!" (Shadow: 6000, Kaiba: 8000).
Yugi Mutoh and his friends were gathered outside KaibaCorp. Joey looked over the crowd and saw Roland in a stretcher, being put into an ambulance. Mokuba spotted him in the crowd and had security bring him over, Yugi, Tea and Tristan all trailing behind him. Mokuba was looking passed Joey and called Yugi, "Yugi!" Tea was the first to break from the crowd, Yugi was right behind her. "Yugi, my brother's been kidnapped, what should I do, I don't...and you saved us before, how can I save him?" Mokuba began to cry on Yugi's shoulder as the group tried to calm him down.
The Shadow looked through his deck for a card, "This Spell card allows me to grab one low level monster from my deck and remove it from play, I can summon the monster during any of your turns at a cost of one thousand life points." Kaiba, looked as the Shadow put the card in the newly designed removal section of his Duel Disk, wait, he never had a removal section! Kaiba looked down to see that he had the same Duel Disk strapped on his arm. The Shadow explained, "Oh, I should mention, that the loser of this duel, will be injected with the poison on my modified Duel Disks and they have one hour to live, so Kaiba, prepare to die!"
Kaiba awaited the Shadow's attack, ready to return his attack. "Death Reaper, attack his dragon now!" Kaiba was ready, "I activate Shadow Spell which decreases your monsters attack power (1300), now Spear Dragon, counter attack!" The Spear Dragon destroyed the Shadow's monster and Shadow's life points went down. (Shadow: 5400). "I lost life points from the attack, but I gain half the attack points I paid to summon the Death Reaper and I'll end my turn by playing a facedown card". (Shadow: 6400). "It's my turn now," Kaiba announced, "I sacrifice my Spear Dragon for the Luster Dragon (2400)". "Now Luster Dragon, attack him directly!" (Shadow: 3000). The Shadow arched back after the attack, but quickly recovered.
"I summon Killjoy Reaper in attack mode (200) and I activate the Trap card, Ghost's Soul which can only be activate once I summon the Killjoy reaper, it swaps the attack of our monsters". "Now my Killjoy Reaper (2400), attack his dragon (200)!" (Kaiba: 5800). "It looks like I'm in charge of this duel now". Kaiba looked up, "Not for long!" Kaiba draws a card and looks down at the Blue Eyes White Dragon he drew. Kaiba checks his hand, "It's time to end this game Shadow, I hope you like the hospital". "Oh, Kaiba, I won't be in the hospital, you'll be in the earth, six feet under".
